HA Bricks has been in the spotlight over the last few weeks and not in a good way. The LEGO Group has won a court ruling against the Dutch custom train company for trademark infringement!
HA Bricks must stop selling their custom trains, that use LEGO parts, within two days, and surrender their sales figures. If they refuse LEGO could be owed upto €1,000 per day. That’s not all, an additional €500 per product sold could be claimed. On top of all of that HA Bricks will need to pay €16,000 in legal costs.
The preliminary relief Judge ruled that the printed LEGO bricks and customising parts by adding ball bearings, permanently changed the appearance of the bricks. According to the judge, this is simply not allowed.
HA Bricks always saw the custom sets as a tribute to LEGO and thought reselling the goods followed the rules. What do you think? Will this affect other printing companies? Let us know your thoughts via the comments section below.

Honestly that’s annoying … Lego is taking all the fun from all the customs brands!! The only reason they do that is because they want to be the only brand available, saw this happening with a small business last year from Austria or Germany (not sure) and it’s so sad!
