This week’s LEGO Ideas feature is a lovely Townhouse, it not only looks the part but also fills a gap in the LEGO modular market of where Minifigures live!

With the rumours of the next official LEGO Modular Building being a couple of Townhouses, I thought it was extremely apt to showcase this one. The difference with MaMiMo‘s creation is that it’s partly through a makeover and comes complete with a crane, scaffolding and a decorating team.

Introducing House Makeover by MaMiMo.

Many houses have been build by Lego fans over the years. And some are getting a bit older. Time to renovate! – MaMiMo

From the outside the house design is a very typical American one, this is coming from a British guy that has seen a lot of US movies and TV shows. The dark red colour scheme with the white accents work so well and really pop when applied in brick form, the porch really hits the spot for me. Being a three storey building and modular in design, the floors do come apart to allow you access.

Also outside are a handful of side builds that tie into the whole makeover and renovation aspect of the set. There is a crane to lift heavy materials to the higher floors, scaffolding for the construction workers to purch on and work, a small trailer and a portable toilet.

It’s so refreshing to see a design like this on LEGO Ideas and a privilege to share it with you here on The Brick Post. I appreciate what goes into a build like this and what elements you need to include in order to make it structurally sound. Incorporating all the added architecture details too must have taken a while to perfect, which is why this set really shines, the time and care taken is apparent, even in digital builds.

This build looks great from every angle, front-on, side profile and from above. A set that comes to life more than most official LEGO sets we’ve got over the years, there’s a Minifigure up a ladder fixing the roof, the Architect discussing plans with the foreman and general workers keeping themselves busy.

Unfortunately there aren’t any interior shots but that’s fine, we can imagine what this stunning house must look like inside. Perhaps it’s total gutted and ready for new furniture due to the renovations. Of the latter is the case then I think this adds to the idea, we have freeroam to create our dream house!

Overall the build looks amazing and I’d love to have it join my collection, the talent needed to execute these ideas we feature is impressive and we would like to wish MaMiMo the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support.
