The LEGO Advent Calendars have been a staple for many fans at Christmas. Since their introduction in 1998, the small but festive selection of Minifigures and minibuilds are generally loved by most, but over the years the price of these have risen and the quality, and quantity, has fallen.
I myself have stopped purchasing the LEGO City and LEGO Star Wars advent calendars as they just don’t hit the mark, in terms of price and exclusivity of pieces. I’ve not been in the LEGO hobby for long, compared to lifelong fans, but from what I’ve seen over the years the Advent Calendars have slowly been getting worse. For the intended younger fans they are great, but us AFOLs (adult fan of LEGO) look for unique parts and prints, weigh up the cost and often leave it on the shelf, hoping for a better offering the following year.
Having recently heard from a handful of friends that are, or used to be, avid LEGO Advent Calendar enthusiasts, I posed them a question that I’ll now ask you. Are The LEGO Advent Calendars Worth The Money?
We’d love to hear from you either in the comments section below or over on our accompanying Instagram post, where our readers discuss and share their thoughts.
