LEGO and Nintendo have only just joined forces to bring us LEGO Super Mario. Today LEGO teased something very special to a lot of AFOL followers. I know I am very fond of the teased subject.

In the very short teaser video we see bands of colours fade-in to reveal the silhouette of a box or two. Those boxes haven been confirmed to be a retro TV and the Nintendo NES console!

Are you ready to play like never before?

You may have see the leak that has been circulating across social media of the set itself. We here at The Brick Post have decided we no longer post leaked sets, as it is in direct violation of The LEGO Group. We don’t want to upset the big boys.

That doesn’t stop us from describing it though, so here goes. The box design follows on from the current 18+ theme of faded black background with a small band of grey bricks at the bottom. The image of the set itself looks glorious and very retro indeed!

LEGO have designed and built a very traditional looking small TV which stands on four brown legs. On the right hand side are the TV controls, power button and volumn etc.

The screen itself depicts a classic Super Marion scene from his very first game on the NES. There are sign that we can somewhat control Mario, up & down, but not having too many details at this time we’d hate to get our hopes up! I would absolutely love it if the screen scrolled along to reveal more of the level and the Castle at the end!

The NES console itself looks stunning and LEGO have done an amazing job recreating it with its slopes and boxed look.

I think it’s safe to say that everyone knows what the Classic NES controller looks like?! There have been many MOCs of the NES and controller but finally having an official LEGO one is a dream come true!

The only real detail to be revealed on the box is the part count, which is a massive 2646! Some rumours have been circulating that release I will be 1st August, which isn’t that far away really.

We expect LEGO to officially announce is very soon, we’ll keep you posted and share the official images and details.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, is this a day one purchase or will you hold off? We’d love to hear from you!
