We all love to build and play with LEGO right? If you’re anything like me and love a good cup of coffee, then combining the two would be a dream come true – well there’s an option for that!
I recently went to the Brick Corner Cafe In Buxton, Derbyshire. I knew they existed prior to going but never got the chance to go for a visit. I am glad to say that during the half term holidays I was able to take my daughter with me to go and see what this place was all about.

We visited during half term and I would recommend booking a table before going (you can do this on their website in the contact us area). We got in just as they opened and it didn’t take long until they were full.
They have displays all around the cafe, on shelves and suspended from the ceiling. You have to look out for Saturn V looking rather cool, separated into sections and suspended from the ceiling.
Myself and my family’s experience was off to a blinding start as we walked in the door, you are greeted in a very happy manner by the staff, as they proceed to explain what the cafe is all about. You are free to grab buckets of random pieces from the bulk areas as you please for no charge, and if you have very young kids, you can access the DUPLO bricks. They explain that they have some sets for use while you are there, but if you are building a set there is a small £2 charge (a small price to pay to maintain and add new sets to the service). This could Also be a great way of building a set to see if you actually wanted to buy that set yourself.
In the cafe there is an education area which is used during pre-designated classes and alike. As it was half term and the classes that day were not tailored to that, there was no access, my family and I only went to have coffee and a little inpromptu play.
From the cafe aspect, they had a good selection of cakes and biscuits from local suppliers, there was even biscuits shaped like a Minifigure head – very cute and quirky, as well as being delicious. The coffee was exceptionally nice, I went up for a second one whilst my daughter was building the set we hired.
During our half term visit, special activities are put on, there was a class of 4 child building some awesoming looking robot sets. In the class they were learning to program them using code on inhouse tablets. The class was run by the main man Dave, as the parents got to sit, chat and have a nice coffee whilst their kids were entertained – winner!
The cafe is a hive of community events and a great place to meet and hangout. This is why I am sharing my experience, it’s worthy of us brick-heads going to support them while you are in the area. Places like this only come around and stay if we use them!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Brick Corner Cafe and would love to go again when we get chance.
