LEGO Art has really taken off over the last couple of years with the now retired DOTS theme and the aptly named Art sets. From Batman to Van Gogh, LEGO Art is a big money maker, so expanding on that any way they can is a must. This week’s LEGO Ideas Feature is by BrickAbe and their amazingly vibrant Bob Ross: The Joy of Painting!

The design is similar to previous LEGO Art set and can be hung on the wall or stood on a shelf/desk. The 3D aspect is amazing with the cabin, trees, mountains and steps all jutting out of the brick-built canvas. The colours used are bright are really make the art pop, I like the contrast between the grey mountains in the background and the flowers at the front.

The 80s gave birth to many popular movies and shows, but none have had the same lasting impact as Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting. The show has truly survived the test of time and is more popular than ever! – BrickAbe

There’s a space for the man himself to sit, on a log by the river. Yes a Bob Ross Minifigure is included and comes in a small brick-built TV, which is where he is most famous from. The Minifigure looks spot on and has all the main ‘Bob Ross’ traits, including his permed hair, just like the Van Gogh Minifigure this woo uld make an excellent addition to the collection.

On the back is a similar design to previous Art sets, with the ability to hang or stand as you see fit. Layered plates and other elements make should make the whole thing sturdy, the added parts on the front will also bulk it out.

We would like to wish BrickAbe the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to give your support, please use the links below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
