Recreating popular TV shows into LEGO has become very popular, with the likes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Seinfeld, Queer Eye and The Office all becoming official sets!

Today’s LEGO Ideas Feature continues that trend and is by one of the Brick Boyz, Jake, a.k.a Let’s Brick It. He’s choose to digitally recreate one of the late 90s funniest shows, Kenan & Kel.

I’ll admit that although I have heard of and seen a couple of episodes, it was my go to show but I do know those the main characters are and that one quote everyone has at least heard once:

Who loves orange soda?!

The set idea itself looks great, filled with many details and episode references. The three rooms, or set pieces, are instantly recognisable, there is of course the starting stage, theiving room and the store where they work.

Jake has recreated the whole thing extremely well, I particularly like the many 1×1 red curve-topped bricks for the stage curtain, it gives it the finish it needed to pull of the pleated look.

The build showcases the main 3 sets from the unforgettable stage where they always started the show, the grocery store Rigby’s where Kenan worked at and Kenan’s home which consists of the living room and kitchen.

Comprising of 1,797 pieces it would fit in with the current lineup of LEGO TV show sets. I’d say it resembles the LEGO F.R.I.E.N.D.S Apartments in terms of size, with the three sections connecting to make one bigger display piece. This would definitely make the perfect shelf-sitter!

Jake hasn’t stopped there, he’s included a great selection of Minifigures, including:

  • Kenan
  • Kel
  • Chris (Rigbys grocery store owner)
  • Kenan (Rigbys work uniform)
  • Kel (different clothing)
  • Kenan (different clothing)

This opens the set up a lot in terms of display ability, with the multiple variants of Kenan & Kel, you can add them both to all sections of the set without loosing them in another, genius.

I won’t go into too much detail as I would like you to pop over to the official LEGO Ideas page and see for yourself. This idea is fantastic and one I’d happily purchase if made into a real LEGO set.
