This week’s LEGO Ideas feature is taken from a hit Netflix show that I’d like to think the majority of people have seen, if not than it should definitely be on your list!

Brick_em has recreated the Key House from Locke & Key, an American TV series that is based on the comic book series of the same name. It follows the Locke family, mother Nina and her three children Bode, Tyler and Kinsey)l, as they move to Matheson and take residence in Rendell’s (Nina’s murdered husband) family house, Key House. The children soon discover a number of keys hidden throughout the mansion, opening magical doors leading to wonderful but terrifying adventures.

Having seen the entire series myself, this one jumped out at me when perusing the LEGO Ideas platform. The brick-built recreation looks spot on and pulls scenes and locations straight off the page/screen, from the massive mansion and it’s rooms to the well, graveyard and mysterious cave.

I’m so excited because I’ve discovered this American fantasy drama series recently and it became one of my favourite so far: LOCKE & KEY.

Being a Netflix show, LEGO do have connections already with then, the Wednesday (Addams Family) sets have been popular with fan’s and there’s no reason why Locke & Key should be either. Firstly Key House looks superb and would sit on fans shelves easily, although would take up a lot of space if displayed all together.

The set gives me a dolls house vibe, which is rather ironic as in one of the episodes the family find a smaller version of their house which can be used to manipulate the larger one. This is great attention to detail if the creator intended on it of course.

The separate builds that represent the different locations seen in the show are small but look equally as good. The well in which it all begins, the graveyard where a lot of fun & learning happens and the mysterious cave which I won’t say too much about, you’ll have to watch it to find out more.

The characters included are a great choice, obviously the Locke family are present, but also are the resurrected bad guys, again I can’t say too much about it as spoilers. The Minifigure representations are good too, you can easily tell who is who. Each one has a unique style and their own room in the house, again with story-centric items and references, I particularly like the Splattering poster in Kinsey’s room, a movie her and friends were working on in school.

The mansion is structured in three floors.
At the ground floor there are the kitchen and the living room. Up the stairs we arrive at the first floor where we find the bedrooms and a bathroom. Finally in the attic there are another bedroom and the storage room. – Brick_em

The set overall is gorgeous and one I’d purchase if given the chance. Come on LEGO, this needs to be produced! We would like to wish Brick_em the best of luck in promoting and gaining the required 10k supporters needed to get this product idea to the next stage.
