This week’s LEGO Ideas Feature is brought to you by 2PPL and is inspired by Moai statues found in Easter Island!

The submission has already gain over 2,400 supporters and is growing rapidly. If you like the look of this build please support it, it needs to reach 10,000 to make it to the review stage, so every vote counts. Read more about it below and what we think of it, in our weekly LEGO Ideas Feature.

As mentioned above, the Moai statues are found on Easter Island, some stand a staggering 4 metres tall and weigh around 12.5 tons – luckily the LEGO equivalents don’t match those proportions. They do however take a lot of their design, shape, curves and awesomeness from the rock carvings. Using light grey pieces to match the rock colours, the angled back heads with giant features look great.

Each one can be removed from the display plinth and even rotated by the looks of it (photo above). On the plinth itself there are printed tiles that say what the stones are and the location to where they are in the form of longitude and latitude.

Reaching the 100 and 1000 supporter milestones, the creator has unveiled 3 Minifigures that would also come with the set. Rody, Joberto and an Easter Island native

Rody, with his keen eye for detail, deciphered ancient symbols etched into the moai. Joberto, ever the strategist, plotted their course through dense jungles and treacherous cliffs. – 2PPL

I can see this set being popular with most LEGO fans as it can be both played with and displayed nicely on a shelf. The Minifigures are a nice additional touch and look awesome against the backdrop of the Moai stones.

We would like to wish 2PPL the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to give your support, please use the links below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
