This week’s LEGO Ideas feature is brought to you by SJs Workshop and their brick-built recreation of Shakespeare’s Globe!

Today’s feature is a slice of history but told through LEGO bricks, the iconic and world-known threatre location that is Shakespeare’s Globe. With its round walls, colourful interior & stage and many Minifigures, it makes for a great option for fans to not only display amongst their collection but also fit into their Cities.

Shakespeare’s Globe is a world famous theatre in London. This set recreates it’s iconic shape and style, whilst celebrating the many plays of William Shakespeare with a characterful cast of minifigures on the inside.

The scale looks spot on and perfect for Minifigure versions of actors and of course Shakespeare himself, who is included. We haven’t seen him since first released in a Collectible Minifigures Series many years ago. There are other Minifigures included too, 13 to be precise, making for a great lineup of characters, that will take part in the plays.

Comprising of just under 5000 pieces, the idea looks stunning with the tall curved walls, the stands inside and of course the stage area. It would look stunning on display and in a Cityscape. The outer walls do look the same so this might be a repetitive step, but it’ll pay off as the end result it worth it.

This set is full of mischievous spirit and brimming with stories, and also makes a striking and beautiful display piece.

There is so much to see, especially when looking at it from the below perspective – the walls open and a view of the stage. The actors are hard at work performing whilst other characters play with the audience directly.

I was drawn to the iconic shape and liked the challenge of recreating it, and this would be a great LEGO set as it is both a history lesson and a fun story-telling device!

The set overall is great fun and one I’d purchase if given the chance. Come on LEGO, this needs to be produced! We would like to wish SJs Workshop the best of luck in promoting and gaining the required 10k supporters needed to get this product idea to the next stage.
