LEGO have produced many Passenger Planes over the years with another one releasing soon, but they have yet to release a substantial Airport. There have been many sidebuilds that fall under the Airport umbrella but no real builds or a gateway for Minifigures to book and go on their holidays!

Thanks to Bricky_Brick and Brickester that could all change with their latest collaboration project Swan Wings Airport.

Welcome to Swan Wings Airport, the new airport terminal for your Lego city.
A modern building with all the basic needs that an airport requires. – Bricky_Brick & Brickester

When perusing the Ideas website this one definitely catches your eye and rightly so, the yellow accents, curves and overall complexity of the image grabs you and makes you click through to learn more.

Personally I’m a big fan of LEGO Modulars and Cityscapes, one day I hope to have a City of my own, where this Airport build would fit extremely well into. You’d need a lot of grey tiles or road plates for the runway but how cool would it all look as an addition to a City!

The architecture suits the Airport well with the majority being glass walls, this is pretty accurate as pretty much all Airports are styled this way nowadays. Chuck in an accent colour, yellow, and you have yourself a somewhat branded building.

They’ve also included a handful of side builds, including a lookout tower, small monument and several vehicles. Around the back there is a single walkway to embark/disembark, this looks especially good and even connects to a Plane.

Inside the Airport itself you’ll find all the usual features you’d find in a real life one. Let me start of by saying just how well these shots have been captured, making the inside look very spacious and inviting as well as being full of life and motion.

Walk through the doors and you’re greeted with a stylish Airport interior, the continuation of yellow accents, timetable and so much more.

It wouldn’t be an authentic Airport experience without a Duty Free area. Situated upstairs the waiting & boarding area along with the Duty Free shop can be found, the latter stocks a nice selection of Magazines and other essentials to make your flight more enjoyable, who doesn’t love something good too read when flying?!

Breezing through the security check and on to board your flight, show the Airport staff your boarding pass and away you go. I like how this is all built and presented, with the glass separators, Airline branding on the desk, the main signs dotted around and custom printed elements that really bring all this together.

Once on the Plane your Minifigures can sit back & relax and look out the window, ready to enjoy their well earner holiday.

I won’t go into too much detail as I would like you to pop over to the official LEGO Ideas page and see for yourself. This idea is fantastic and one I’d happily purchase if made into a real LEGO set.

  1. Hi! Awesome airport! Thats whats still missing in the Lego World! I definitively support this project! Can you tell me what these yellow thick pipes are? Is this an official Lego part? Or did you kind of invent it?

    Thank you
    Michael
