In Issue 113, LEGO fan John Cramp and LEGO Designer Marina Stampoli discuss taking a British icon and delivering it as a compelling, attractive model to build and display. Senior Designer Sven Franic then talks about a very different challenge – analysing the natural, irregular shape of a kingfisher and capturing it in a beautiful Icons set.

There’s one classic piece of LEGO transportation that is universally loved by fans – the monorail. Only a few Town and Space sets using the monorail cars and track were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but there was so much more on the drawing board for this system. Blocks has a tantalising peek into an alternate future!

Returning to the present, LEGO House has just opened the new Build the Change experience. Find out what it’s all about and how the creative team behind it found a way to deliver sustainability in a way that appeals to guests of all ages.

40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad recently introduced micro Classic Space figures! Whether you use one of those tiny characters or the beloved Spacebaby, you can build a modern version of 6824 Space Dart I specifically scaled for these miniaturised astronauts by following a set of exclusive instructions.

That’s just a taste of what’s in Blocks magazine Issue 113 – this month’s 116 pages also contain the real reason stickers are so common, LEGO food that looks good enough to eat, the dangers of bat-obsession and much more.
