Today, 28th January, is known as International LEGO Day, as the patent was filed and the humble LEGO brick was ‘born‘!
As the Danish clock struck 13:58 on this day in 1958, the patent for the design of the LEGO brick was filed in Denmark. Not a lot has changed to the very first brick and is still compatible with today’s vast range of elements.
We as LEGO fans don’t need a reason to get building but seeing as it’s International LEGO Day I won’t argue with it. Enjoy your day and build like there’s no tomorrow!
