LEGO has revealed several sets on the Shanghai expo. One of these is a new Heartlake City shopping mall. This 8+ set comprises of 1237 pcs. RRP will be £104.99/$119.99/€119.99.
The set features 2 moving escalators and 7 minidolls, with one having his leg in a cast which might be a first in LEGO Friends. In line with the 2023 reboot, the colourscheme is a lot more subtle than previous Friends shopping centers. There’s also a few recoloured parts like the headphones, flowerpiece and canoe. There appears to be a new printed tile for food but it’s not clear enough in the pictures. But the highlight for new pieces is of course the banana peel. I can imagine using this in fun scenes for sure!
Other than that the set also continues the trend of simplified Friends sets. I see a lot of big panels being used which makes it less ideal as a parts pack for AFOLs or just general rebuilding.
