Mentioned in the latest LEGO 2024 annual resutls and reported on by various news outlets, the LEGO Group will build an in-house game development team!
Over the years many LEGO games were solely developed and published by TT Games and most recently 2K Games, produing games such as LEGO Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, DC and many more. In recent years Epic Games has joined that list to bring us LEGO Fortnite, which has been a huge hit with gamers. According to sources LEGO wants to bring game development in-house to develop. This suggests that the future of LEGO Games could be substantially different to what we’re used to. What this means exactly is still anyone’s guess – could the days of big LEGO games be over? Is the future smaller experiences similar to LEGO Horizon Adventures? Watch this space for more information when it drops.
