LEGO have released a Designer video all about the upcoming LEGO Haunted House 10273 and it reveals what went into producing such a detailed set.
A lot of inspiration was drawn from older LEGO sets, including:

Bits and pieces from other sets have been spotted also, from the Sphinx head from 5978 (Sphinx Secret Surprise), Hieroglyphs which featured in 5978 (Sphinx Secret Surprise), a Yellow Artifact which comes straight out of 7412 (Yeti’s Hideout), Egyptian dog Anubis which are common in Ancient Egypt sets in particular 5938 (Oasis Ambush), and many more, can you spot them in the video?
