LEGO Microfighters, you either love them or hate them, I personally really enjoy them and what they bring to the table, which is a fun little glimpse and stepping stone into the World of Star Wars and LEGO!

I will add that I am somewhat picky about which micro Star Wars ships I get as not all tickle my fancy. Today’s review was the only one I needed ASAP as it’s a ship that I find both visually pleasing and badass, after all it was owned by The Mandalorian.

Being a smaller scale set I joined Mark (@brick_beat) as a guest on his first ever Instagram live stream, which was an honour.

As always I’ll break the review up into bitesized chunks, Box, Build, Minifigure, and Conclusion. Enjoy!

The Box & Contents:

Although the box is small it does pack a punch and shows off the set and Minifigure quite well. Being a space craft the box art depicts it zooming relatively close to the ground shooting its missiles, flip the box over and the Razor Crest has already landed and The Mandalorian is unloading his cargo via the ramp at the back.

The instruction manual is small and flimsy but being a small build it makes sense. It features the new but common trend of a little Minifigure running along the bottom of each page which signifies your progression of the build, a cool feature that I rather quite like.

The Build:

Cracking the box open and sliding the contents you get an idea of how big this Microfighter will turn out, not very crudely put. Having a few past Microfighters lso helps in gauging its size, and obviously the Mini helps too.

Layering up the parts and making a start on the base of the miniature Razor Crest we see a few of the details the Design team have picked up in, the landing gear and the basic shape of the vessel. Adding a rnao at the rear is a very nice touch and one I’m glad they included, it adds so much to the overall set, it’s one they could have easily overlooked and left off.

The thrusters situated on both sides were a fun little side build before popping them on each side, built up with circular plates and cylinders, finished off with orange transparent pieces.

Inside the cockpit you’ll find a cool printed dashboard/panel with all the necessary controls to get the thing to fly, I presume.

I particularly like the fact they’ve left enough space behind The Mandalorian for his Jetpack, it would be a constant pain to remove is every time.

Included on the front of the ship are two of the newer stud shooters that fire the usual 1×1 transparent red studs. It’s nice to get these in such a small set and to have them for potential MOCs later down the line.

The Minifigure:

Included in the set in The Mandalorian, a.k.a Din Djarin.

Its so refreshing to get his kind of Minifigure in a set this small, usually you’ll be looking at spending at least £25 in order to bag him!

Sadly this isn’t exclusive to the set as it has been in the last couple of Star Wars sets on the same theme. That being said the printing on it is stunning and even the arms have a decent amount on them too.

The inclusion of the Jetpack is a very nice touch and a welcomed one, also the blaster gun is back and replaces the not-so-cool studs shooters, thanks LEGO

The Conclusion:

Overall a superb little set that packs a lot in!

Scaling down such a modern iconic Star Wars ship is a rough job but LEGO have pulled it off, and we’ll. The build itself is quite lacklustre but there are some good parts (printed dashboard, new stud shooters etc).

The Mandalorian Minifigure is definitely the cherry on the Microfighter cake and is worth picking up just for that. The printing is on point, the Jetpack is very welcomed, and the blaster gun finishes him off nicely.

For a quick and easy build we recommend picking up this set, LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest Microfighter (75321)!
