A new brand has arrived, at least for us here at The Brick Post. Pantasy have been around since 2020 and have a nice selection of sets under their belt, including two modular buildings, one of which we have for review today!

The Pantasy Bakery (85013) is a large modular building that has a lot going on, inside and out. The architecture is awesome and will slot into an existing brick City easily. It took me roughly a weekend to build as it has 2,663 pieces, spread across 15 numbered bag. The Pantasy team sent us a review copy, but the retail price is great if you are planning to buy it, coming in at just $149.99, although they usually have a sale on making it cheaper. Amazon also stock this and other sets so it’s worth checking there too. We affiliate with Pantasy and can offer an exclusive code which gets you 10% off, use Post01Bakery during checkout (valid until 25/2/2025).

The Box & Contents:

The box is of premium quality and comes fully printed, it shows the Bakery front & centre along with a basic colourised background. On the reverse are several photos of the interior including what’s located on each floor. Also there are measurements of the building itself, coming in at 38.5cm tall and 25.6cm wide.

Inside the box are 15 numbered bags and a modestly thin instruction manual. The steps are a little more complicated than other brands, but this is aglngoos point in my eyes, the more pieces and involved building steps makes it feel like a set for older fans, it also gives that sense of accomplishment after each bag.

The Build:

Starting off with the baseplate, which I swapped out for a thinner one, you tile the entire thing with different colours, ready to add the walls and the other parts. The reason I change to a thinner plate is because it will eventually fit into my City, which have all been built on those particular plates. It is mandatory and to be honest the plate included in the set is far more sturdy than the one I used, again it’s personal preference.

Over the next few bags you build up the ground floor, which is the Bakery itself. What I like about this Pantasy set is that you just build, plain and simple building, I love it. Stacking the bricks as you go overlapping them to make the whole structure sturdy, the odd door, windows and other furnishings.

Inside the Bakery is a serving counter, a centre-isle filled with bread and croissants, in the corner is a sweet treat section and opposite is a small Coffee hatch for customers to order on the go.

The next floor up is a very cool and much needed Gym, especially if you’ve had a few pastries in the Bakery beforehand. Continuing the construction of walls and the floor, the Gym area is a bit more sparse than the Bakery but that’s because it is filled with workout machines such as a treadmill, bike, weights and a punching bag.

The colour scheme here is great too, with yellow and black accents. The floor is a bare baseplate bit it works, you can position characters wherever you want. There is a massive glass window on this floor also and an indoor balcony. When you’re working out you can smell the sweet treats and coffee being made below.

The top floor is a very small but sweet apartment, of this is the Bakery owners home isn’t clear but we’d like to think it is. Inside the apartment is a bed, desk, wardrobe and more, it looks like a very well furnished place and a great place to live.

The owner will need to go through the Bakery and Gym to get to their home but we don’t see that as a problem, as they can grab a snack and workout on the way up. There is a way up at the back of the building, with ladders and such, a bit more risky but less busy. Outside is a very smart and tidy balcony, tiled with a nice pattern along with a table, perfect for breakfast outside.

At the very top, in the roof section, there is a Sky Garden, this looks quaint and peaceful, the perfect space to get away from the hustle and bustle of the street below. Access to the roof is a little dangerous looking but that’s fine, as long as there’s a way to access.

The front of the roof has nice detailing architecture and detailing, with the curved tiles and slopes. The white trim is only made up of a couple of elements but they work, coupled with the nougat-coloured lattice windows, it’s a perfect match. The steeples tower above the street below and add a lot of height to the overall set, which is good as putting it next to other modular buildings is why you get this set, and it fits.

Overall the set is fantastic and one any respectable modular fan should get. The bricks are well made, the building is sturdy and the whole thing looks so good! We hope to add this to the City at some point so watch this space for photos of that, why not follow us on Instagram where we share a whole lot more, including videos and such.
