These are custom printed onto genuine LEGO parts, we particularly like Del’s custom printed flat cap, Rodney’s camo outfit (including custom arms), and the delightfully bushy beard of Uncle Albert.

The Last Of Us Rooftop MOC With Ellie & Joel Custom LEGO Minifigures! https://www.thebrickpost.com/mocs/the-last-of-us-rooftop-moc-with-ellie-joel-custom-lego-minifigures/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/mocs/the-last-of-us-rooftop-moc-with-ellie-joel-custom-lego-minifigures/#respond Thu, 09 Feb 2023 11:49:07 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=24843 Here at The Brick Post we love a good custom LEGO Minifigure, combine that with a new TV show, Movie, Game, and Book makes it even better, getting characters we know and love!

We’ve recently got into The Last Of Us from HBO and we can’t get enough of it, so when we spotted Ellie & Joel at our go to place for customs, Minifigs.me, we had to have them. We’ve already reviewed these figures here if you’d like to know more about them.

To honour the arrival of these awesome custom LEGO Minifigures I wanted to recreate a scene from both the Game and TV show. At the time I had just finished episode 2, where they’re crossing the post-pandemic City by rooftop, so what better scene to do than that I asked myself. It seemed single enough to do, a bunch of tan slopes, a window, grey bricks and a mass of foliage.

I love working on a slightly smaller scale and the 16×16 plates are perfect for creating scenes with a ton of details whilst cutting down the amount of parts needed. Rummaging through my pieces I found enough grey masonry bricks to create both the builds, these bricks are great as they not only build up a large space quickly but they also have detail built-in to them.

I won’t go too much into the process as I am in no way a master builder, mustering all my skills to put this MOC together, so please be kind. I know it’s not perfect but it does the job and I’m happy with it, which is what counts.

This also tied nicely into #SigfigScene, hosted by ourselves and good friend Mark (@brick_beat). Popping Lil’ G, my Sigfig, into the scene was great fun and the final image came out better than I expected. Using a tablet that had an abandoned City landscape on it, which I Googled, I positioned it behind my MOC and snapped away on my phones camera. Editing it later to really make the colours pop and blurring the background to draw focus to my Sigfig.

Please feel free to take part in #SigfigScene, simply share your photo on Instagram, tagging myself & Mark and using #SigfigScene.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article, we really appreciate it. Head down to the comments section to ask any questionsol or thoughts, we’d love to hear from you.

Create Your Own Custom Minifigures With Minifigs.me! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/create-your-own-custom-minifigures-with-minifigs-me/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/create-your-own-custom-minifigures-with-minifigs-me/#respond Thu, 03 Nov 2022 09:16:50 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=22157 We recently had the chance to experience the new & improvedCreate Your Own‘ service at Minifigs.me, here’s how we got on and a closer look at what is on offer at the best place to get custom bits!

We at The Brick Post have a great fondness for Minifigures and Sigfigs (signature figures), if you follow us on Instagram you’ll know firsthand just how much, with our many posts and weekly #SigfigScene feature. Minifigs.me came into our lives quite recently and we’ve fallen for their many awesome products and custom elements, they enhance the whole Sigfig market too with their fully fledged and incredibly involved ‘Create Your Own‘ system.

If that didn’t persuade you to have a go, then using our link will get you 10% off your order and any future orders too. Bookmark this page to reuse the link whenever you need something from Minifigs.me.

Create Your Own:

When their new website first loads you’ll see the ‘Create Your Own‘ banner near the top of the page, pop in a project name, we suggest something short and unique, this helps the Minifigs.me team pick & process your order correctly, making sure the correct parts go with the correct figure.

Once you’ve chosen a suitable name hit the button ‘Start building‘, this takes you to where you piece together yourself, friend, or family member.

First things first you need to choose the colour of your character, there are four options with one being standard LEGO Yellow. Next on the list is Hair, or a Hat.

Presented with a plethora of options from short or long hair to different styles and hats, there is something here for everyone and you won’t be left wondering which one to choose. Beward that the price for the Minifig isn’t set in stone, it changes depending on the cost of the part you add, luckily there are prices on display at all times and an overall basket amount at the bottom of each section.

Once you’ve settled on a hairstyle or fancy hat, you’ll get to choose your face, this is probably one of the most important steps and equally most exciting, you get to choose what you look like. Either keep it real or go for something completely unique and out of this World.

With a ton of options including standard LEGO heads to totally custom ones, you can even contact them and ask for something similar to your real face, their design team has worked wonders with our Greg’s face, even supplying alternative expressions. Again these extras all cost money so please enquire with them before starting.

Everytime you add a part you’ll see it here (above) in the order list, this also gives you a sense of what the overall Minifig will look like.

When it comes to the torso and legs you can again add custom designed parts to your character, we would highly recommend heading to the ‘Winter and Christmas‘ collection as the season is almost upon us. They have issued several new designs including Christmas jumpers, that can be customised with your Name on the back!

Greg went for the Green Candy Canes and Reindeer jumper, we think it’ll suit him really well, especially combined with the custom designed grey legs!

The next big step is choosing a display, of course you don’t need to choose this option but please do take a look, there are some really great pieces on offer. For instance they have added large panels with custom designed backgrounds on them, great for creating MOCs (my own creations) with, placing them behind your Minifig and really setting the scene.

Greg went for the fireplace when choosing his display, he can imagine popping the custom printed LEGO panel into the background of photos. Other display types are available including small stands and mini-builds. It again relies on your personal preference and budget. Making a Sigfig is a great experience in itself, often evolving along the way, having different options is great and you’ll be back at Minifigs.me buying more unique parts for your mini LEGO you.

The final steps are choosing accessories, this part of the creator takes the most time as they have 100s to choose from. Thankfully you have the option to add upto 3, usually making for an eclectic mix of addons, from backpacks and handbags to baseball bats and animals.

Once you’re happy with your selections hit the ‘figure complete‘ button, this will transfer your parts to the basket where you can finish the checkout procedure. Don’t forget to use this link to get 10% off your order, every little helps!

Themeir new website is superb and really looks the bees-knees, we love the direction they have taken and the style is spot on with what they offer and how they operate. The team are very friendly so please do reach out to them is you encounter any issues.

We may earn a small commission when you use any of the links above, this goes towards the upkeep of The Brick Post website, thank you. We’d love to see your creations so don’t hesitate to tag us in any posts you share on social media.

We hope this helps you on your way to creating a fun and interesting Minifig!

Halloween Inspired Custom LEGO Minifigures From Minifigs.me – The Mummy, The Shining, And More! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/halloween-inspired-custom-lego-minifigures-from-minifigs-me-the-mummy-the-shining-and-more/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/halloween-inspired-custom-lego-minifigures-from-minifigs-me-the-mummy-the-shining-and-more/#respond Mon, 17 Oct 2022 08:46:43 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=21952 Halloween is a couple of weeks away but here at The Brick Post it has come early. We have been sent the latest batch of custom LEGO Minifigures by the wonderful team at Minifigs.me, to review and give you a closer look at what makes them so special!

The characters are inspired by  Halloween and Horror in general and span many decades of cinema history, from the very first Halloween movie released in 1978, The Shining in 1980, to The Mummy which dropped in 1999. They cover a wide variety of genres and are considering modern classics, Halloween is still going with a new film in theaters now, although this outing is considered to be the last in the franchise.

Jump to a specific Minifigure:

Minifigs.me have captured the characters likenesses from the movies above incredibly well, from the facial expressions and accessories to the full body printing, you can count on Minifigs.me to get it right and at a very high standard. If you would like to own any of these figures please use any of the links dotted throughout the article, they automatically add a 10% discount to your basket, get in!

Halloween:

First on the list is Michael Myers, the man in the plain white creepy mask that stalks & hunts his victims until they end up in a wardrobe.

The head is perfect and captures the lifeless essence behind the mask well, with the pitch black eye holes and mouth. There is a lack of expression on the face which matches the onscreen counterpart, it really does look creepy.

On the torso you’ll see a few crease lines and pocket details and that is about it, which isn’t a bad thing, it matches what Michael Myers wears in the movie, an overall. This is probably the only instance where less is definitely more when it comes to design. The knife is a great addition to the Minifigure and will be used in future MOCs (my own creations).

The Mummy:

On to one of my all time favourites, The Mummy!

Introducing the hero of the movie series Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser). As you can see from the image above the character design is spot-on to that of the movies, kitted out with his gun vest/holsters, white linen shirt, and explorer trousers.

When it comes to the face and hair they are also a great design choice, with his wavey hair and serious expression. It would have been nice to include perhaps an angry or happy expression on the reverse, giving you more choice when taking photos and popping the character in a MOC.

As always Minifigs.me have gone above & beyong with the printing, including continuing the holster straps under the arms on both sides, even the trousers and boots completely surround the legs and feet!

He comes with his trusty pistol which I’ve seen many times before from classic LEGO Cowboy sets. I think this is the perfect accessory companion piece and wouldn’t have anything else.

Imhotep is ‘The Mummy’ and rightly so, he is as despicable as he looks, but the custom Minifigure is far from the onscreen counterpart and it done really well, complete with gold trim robes and a special printed tile!

Starting with the head print, it features a half-finished face just like in the movie, when he trying to make himself complete. The design and printing is once again outstanding and the design team have done a superb job.

Continuing onto the torso and legs you’ll see a very elegant black robe with gold trim, which carries onto the legs nicely and lines up well. The is one slightly down point to printing lighter colours onto plain black LEGO parts, getting the flesh tone correct and matching the head and hands, despite this the Minifigs.me team have overcome this issue quite well and pulled it out the bag.

Included with this character is a custom tile, the book of Amun Ra (Book of the Dead). It’s so nice to get these extras and really shows they have done their research, I particularly like this Minifigure more with the inclusion of the tile.

The Shining:

Jack Nicholson is one of the most iconic actors of the 20th Century, he has been recreated in custom LEGO Minifigure form perfectly here by Minifigs.me.

You get instantly drawn to the face as it has the Nicholson eyebrows down to a tee, one slightly higher than the other and in a somewhat menacing position. The added stubble and facial lines only add to the already terrifying expression on his face.

The clothes are spot on too with the red jacket, plaid shirt and strangely neat jeans, he even comes with an axe, for recreating that iconic ‘Here’s Johnny‘ scene. The whole character comes together extremely well and one I’m glad to have in my growing collection of customs.

The Twins, these two have always given me the creeps, because of that iconic hallway scene, riding their identical red trikes.

I’ll be honest and say that when I first saw the images of these two online I wasn’t 100% sold, something didn’t look quite right. Having them now in hand I can say that I was wrong, they are great. Again they come with full body printing, including on the shorter LEGO posable legs!

As you can see from the image above the printing covers both Minifigures entirely, even under the arms. The amount of detail the design team have added is incredible, the shadows in the pleets, the creases where the ribbon & bow has been tied, down to the dark shadow around the eyes, they’ve thought of everything.

There you have it, the newest additions to the Minifigs.me family, Halloween, The Mummy and The Shining, which one(s) are your favourites and will you be adding any to your collect?
