Chris Pratt made an appearance on the Today Show in the US, but outside is where the amazing build could be seen, as it stood towering over the crowd. Coming in at just over 200,000 pieces, the build looks incredible and extremely detailed.

Although it wasn’t quite a while T-Rex, the effect and awe was still the same, as the head had burst through the Jurassic World Dominion logo, which was also brick-built.

At one point Chris Pratt genuinely got told off for climbing partially into the Dinosaurs mouth!

New LEGO Jurassic World Sets Revealed! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-lego-jurassic-world-sets-revealed/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-lego-jurassic-world-sets-revealed/#respond Thu, 03 Jun 2021 08:07:34 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=11385 LEGO Jurassic World has always been a favourite of mine are recently four new sets have been added to LEGO.com.

The four sets will include new versions of cool Dinosaur figures which include a Stygimoloch, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, and a T-Rex Fossil!

There is a 4+ set that is based on the Netflix Camp Cretaceous series which features the closest we’ve ever come to a classic style park Jeep.

The standout set here (76940) combines Jurassic World and Owen with the Camp Cretaceous’ Darius – and the T-Rex fossil isn’t bad either!

These will be available 1st September 2021 from all LEGO Certified Stores and Online.

Take a look at the sets below and let us know in the comments below what you think of them.

LEGO Jurassic World Magazine Issue 10 – Special Edition! https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-10-special-edition/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-10-special-edition/#comments Sun, 22 Nov 2020 10:20:28 +0000 http://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=7106 Another magazine I look forward to each month is LEGO Jurassic World. Amongst the mountain of Owen Grady Minifigures, we usually get, we do sometimes get a really nice mini-build or two. With the previous issue (issue 24) the freebie was a LEGO Jurassic World ATV, inspired by and sporting classic Jurassic Park colours. It turns out that was part one of a two part build, so purchasing this latest issue was a must!

The Magazine:

I’m a fairly newcomer when it comes to actually sitting down and reading the two comic stories contained within most issues of LEGO related magazine. I must say that I quite enjoy them, I of course read them to my little LEGO helper (Son) who laughs and gasps along.

As always at least one of the stories features the main build and/or Minifigure. It gives you the back story or idea to take the playability further.

For some reason this particular comic depicts Owen Grady escorting the Baby Dino and cage around the Park, whereas last issue the ATV was driven by Vic Hoskins!

With a handful of activities ranging from puzzles, a maze, and some rather handy door signs for the kids use, to let you know what sort of mood they’re in.

It’s become a staple in LEGO Magazines to include a double-sided poster and this issue doesn’t disappoint.

We get the classic phrase of ‘Welcome To Jurassic Park’ but with its modern day counterpart Jurassic World instead.

The other side features an old fan favourite, Dennis Nedry, and his latest creation the Dinobot. Is it ‘Man, Machine, or Dinosaur?! ‘

Great for hanging in your Child’s room or even your LEGO den! I tend to save every issues poster for keepsake, maybe one day I’ll frame the good ones.

The Freebie:

As you may have seen, from the front cover, the freebie is a small Dinosaur cage on wheels, that attaches to the freebie from the last issue. This is the first time, that I know of, LEGO has supplied a two parter, and I like it!

Consisting of only 26 pieces it’s not a big build, but it is however an enjoyable one. It’s perfect for what it is, a small cage which transports one or two baby Dinos.

There’s nothing exclusive in this small bundle of bricks and pieces which is ok as who doesn’t want another baby Raptor to add their Dino army!

The cage itself is very simple and mainly consists of fence and ladder elements. Three black fence bars make up the sides and back while two black ladder pieces serve as hinged doors.

A series of smooth tiles on the base allow the Dino to easily enter and move around with ease. Although not being held by a stud the Raptor is prone to falling over if not careful.

A small clip piece acts as a foot stand for the cage when it’s not attached to the ATV from last issue. It works OK and does the job but you need to remember to move it slightly as not to drag on the floor.

Issue 10 build combined with issue 24

Like I mentioned above I think this must be a LEGO Magazine first, as I can’t recall them issuing a two parter before.

The two builds join together seamlessly and work really well together. The movement of the ball & socket joint is great and just like other LEGO trailers it moves realistically.

For the cost of both issues the whole build equates to £7.98, which is just under the RRP of a small set. OK you may not get quote as many bricks as a small set but what you do get is very good indeed and well worth the spend, the magazines make for a good read also and the included activities will keep the younger fans occupied for a while!

Why not have a bit of fun with the builds and reverse the roles, or make up a game to see who can put each build together the fastest.

Next Issue:

See below for a sneak peek at next issue’s freebie, its another buildable Dinosaur, get in! I really like and enjoy these brick-built dinos, so far we’ve been gifted a T-Rex and Triceratops.

Do you or your Child collect these magazines and mini-builds? Let us know your thoughts on them and what you like and don’t like in the comments below. Don’t forget to leave your reaction to this issue/post below too, it let’s us know if you like the content also and what to focus on in the future, thank you!

LEGO Jurassic World Dr Wu’s Lab 75939 Review! https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-dr-wus-lab-75939-review/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-dr-wus-lab-75939-review/#respond Tue, 28 Jul 2020 16:31:54 +0000 http://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=5168 Being a big Jurassic Park/World AND Dinosaurs in general, I just had to get some of the newer wave sets fro LEGO.

I managed to bag Dr Wu’s Lab (75939) at a decent, and arranged to build it along with Aaron, aka CabbageFaceLego, as part of our new joint venture, Buddy Builds! Please head over to the website for more information on how and where to watch.

So, let’s get into the review of this great little set.

The Main Build:

The main build of this set is a Computer terminal and workbench.

Main build

I must admit that I do like these smaller sets as they pack a lot into them. The Computer terminal looks great and has a lot going on. Three screens sit on the main desk panel and one sunken into the desk itself.

Baby Triceratops enclosure

In the right-hand side you’ll find the Baby Triceratops enclosure. There is a bigger screen just above that so Dr Wu can keep an eye on it.

Dinosaur monitor

The left-hand side is a very nifty looking Egg incubator and Robotic arm, like the one we saw in the original Jurassic Park movie!

Egg incubator

LEGO have even added some derailing on the back of the build, which is a very nice touch.

Computer detail

A piece to take note of is the Mosquito in Amber 1×1 brick. This is indeed a printed part and adds that much needed detail to the set.

Mosquito in Amber

Not an overly big build and quite straight forward to construct. There are no fiddly bits, apart from the stickers of course, so great for younger fans. We get a nice variety of bricks and colours, with a handful of Technic pieces too.

The Minifigures:

Owen Grady & Dr Wu

Two Minifigures are included in this set, the main character Own Grady and Dr Wu.

Starting with Owen Grady, I must say it is nice not to get the same torso as we normally get, there are far too many of this character in LEGO form, but the different torso does refresh him slightly.

Different torso

Dr Wu is a great character and first appeared in the original Jurassic Park movie. I have to admit that this is my very first Dr Wu Minifigure!

The figure itself is good. There isn’t much printing on the torso and looks flat compared to Owen Grady’s.

Alternate faces

They both have alternative faces. Owen has a slight angered expression while Wu has a shocked looked.

I’ve always liked Owen’s expressions, they’re so detailed and very well printed. Wu’s alternate face is also a good one to have and use in MOCs.

The Dinosaurs:

For some this is the main reason to purchase the set, again I have to admit that I am one of those people!

With LEGO Dinosaurs in the secondary market they sometimes sky rocket in price, especially the T-Rex. Now I’m not saying these ones in this set will or won’t but being from a smaller Set they shouldn’t go too high after LEGO discontinue it (in years to come).

Baby Anklyosaurus

Baby Triceratops

The two baby Dinosaurs included are an Ankylosaurus and a Triceratops. These have both been designed really well and instantly recognisable. Their colour scheme matches, both olive green and beige.

There is a 1×2 brick & plate placed in the Triceratops back so you can have a fully standalone Dino or simply whip out the space filler and pop a Minifigure in so they can ride it!

Overall:

Very well designed and thought out set, perfect for younger fans of LEGO.

The two Minifigures are quite generic although you don’t see Dr Wu in many sets. Definitely keep him in my collection!

Dinosaurs are definitely the main draw here, great for expanding on the ever growing Dino gang.

Having 164 pieces it’s not bad for the price, which retails at £17.99. Although, as always, it’s definitely worth keeping at eye for any sales on this.

LEGO Jurassic World Special Edition Magazine + T-Rex! https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-special-edition-magazine/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-jurassic-world-special-edition-magazine/#comments Wed, 12 Feb 2020 11:26:23 +0000 http://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=1951 Today sees the latest release of the Special Edition Jurassic World magazine, issue 5.

Available from 12th February to 10th March.

The more popular magazines tend to sell out rather fast, compared to the City/Friends ones. If you’re into Dinosaurs you need to grab this issue!

Front cover

We usually get gifted a Minifigure as the main freebie, but this one is a Special Edition. ‘Oh fancy’ I hear you all say, well in fact I think it is, let me elaborate a little.

Being an AFOL, the freebie, let’s face it, is the main reason we purchase any LEGO Magazine, and this one in particular stands out, for the sole fact it isn’t another ‘Owen’ (Chris Pratt) Minifigure!

This 65 piece bag of LEGO bits builds a fully articulated T-Rex, albeit a small one.

Foil bag

65 pieces in total!

T-Rex build

The build itself is very straightforward and simple enough, often building two lots of things; thighs, legs, and feet.

The articulation is very good, being able to pose the T-Rex in quite a few positions. For something so small it truly packs a bit bite!

I foresee a miniature Jurassic Park entrance gate vignette being made soon 😉

Roar!

I really like what LEGO have done here, and hope it continues for many more issues, which brings us to the next issues sneaky peek…

Issue 6 of Jurassic World Magazine

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, will you be rushing out to purchase this awesome little T-Rex?
