So when LEGO released the LEGO Antman Construction Figure (76256) I was a little sceptical, as essentially it’s a doll, a brick-built doll to exact. Yes it looks a little goofy, but they’ve chosen a good character to portray. Antman is relatively new to the MCU, but with three solo movies under his belt he has made a ‘BIG‘ impact on fans, myself included.

For the affordable amount of £29.99 I decided to give this set a go. I purchase all review sets from my own pocket and can give a totally unbiased view on them, which I will do below.

The Box & Contents:

As you’ll see from the image above the boxart looks rather cool, with the front focusing on Antman and the microscale Wasp figure. The background is blurred slightly but depicts rubble and fire, a purple-haze scene of destruction. I find that LEGO usually do a superb job with the graphics and this one is no exception, it fits the Marvel material well.

Inside the box you’ll find the usual goodies, two numbered bags and an instruction manual. Note that there aren’t any stickers, get in!

The Build:

As with other buildable figures in the series it is similar in construction, starting off with the torso and then adding the limbs. Each limb is basically the same just build in mirror-opposite, I particularly like how LEGO have don’t the fingers with a new part mould that actually resembles fingers.

As I mentioned above there aren’t any stickers included so every fine detail you see is printed. Part of the suit that sits on his wrists are printed and add so much to the overall look of the set.

Ant-Man stands proud & tall and can be bent into all sorts of action poses, including a running one with a bit of patience.  Nothing really looks out of place although his helmet does look a bit on the big side. This isn’t much to worry about though as overall its a good looking buildable figure, one worthy of anyone’s display space.

Also included in the set is a micro Wasp figure which is a very nice surprise, one that is on the box art but being small may get overlooked quite easily. Same as a previous micro Ant-Man figures, The Wasp design is printed onto a dark blue base and I must say the detail for such a small part is incredible!

You get two of these rare Wasp figures as one is a spare, making it perfect for trading with friends or other AFOLs (adult fan of LEGO).

Overall the set is well worth the £29.99 price tag especially if you’re a Marvel fan. Having this iconic character stood or sat amongst your display will certainly be a conversation starter.

The build it quick but enjoyable and the end result is awesome. The included Wasp microfigure is definitely the icing on the cake.
