The first ever sets to come out of the theme were the LEGO Flower Bouquet and the LEGO Bonsai Tree. There have been many more since, with no signs of stopping, but what would you like to see become a future set?

We’ve had so many Flowers and Plants turned into LEGO sets, including Succulents, Bonsai, Orchid, Bird of paradise, Flower Bouquet, Wildflower bouquet, Tulips, Roses, Sunflowers, Daffodils and Lotus flowers. There are of course so many more varieties and species yet to be presented in brick form, which leads me to today’s question, Which Flower Or Plant Would You Like To See Next From LEGO?

For me personally I’d love to see a Sunflower, I’m not talking a small one stood in a vase, but an almost life-sized one. Ok maybe I’m dreaming aittle but how would would that be and extremely impressive. I’m also open to a large Venus Fly Trap too, complete with small brick-built Flies. Check out the compete range of LEGO Botanical sets here.

Grow Your Creativity With Four New LEGO® Botanicals Sets

– LEGO Botanicals to become its own theme of products, with four new sets announced by the LEGO Group, launching in early 2025 –

Billund, Denmark: Since its introduction in 2021, the LEGO Botanicals collection has fast become one of the LEGO Group’s most popular product ranges, captivating both builders and plant lovers with its unique blend of creativity and relaxation. These sets offer a fresh experience to building, allowing fans of all ages to create lifelike plants and flowers using LEGO bricks, and in particular appealing to adults looking for mindful, stress-relieving activities.

Today, the LEGO Group has announced LEGO Botanicals will become its own specific theme, titled LEGO Botanicals, accompanied by its own logo and new products to come – announcing four new LEGO Botanicals sets to arrive from early 2025.

The four new sets announced include the LEGO® Botanicals Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet, the LEGO® Botanicals Mini Orchid, the LEGO® Botanicals Lucky Bamboo and LEGO® Botanicals Flower Arrangement.

The LEGO Botanicals range is inspired to complement a range of different plant styles and fan favourites. Whether elegant orchids, vibrant flower bouquets, or something else entirely, there’s options for everyone; and with customisation features available, these sets combine creativity with nature to offer a unique building experience that can appeal to both casual builders and green-thumbed enthusiasts.

LEGO® Botanicals Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet (10342)

Budding florists can relax and unwind as they build the LEGO Botanicals Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet (10342). Consisting of 15 flower stems and foliage, including daisies, cornflowers, eucalyptus, elderflowers, roses, ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, a waterlily dahlia and a campanula.

All the stems are adjustable, encouraging builders to create bespoke floral arrangements that they can use as floral home or office decor. For added customisation, the flowers can be arranged with other LEGO bouquets, sold separately, to create a larger, unique floral display.

LEGO® Botanicals Mini Orchid (10343)

Builders can let creativity blossom with the LEGO® Botanicals Mini Orchid (10343). The lifelike replica features five orchid flowers in bloom and a few in bud, as well as leaves for extra authenticity.

It also comes with a light terracotta flowerpot that sits on a beautiful wood-effect plinth, making it easy for budding florists to display the LEGO flower proudly as beautiful home or office decor to bring the tranquility of nature into any living or working space.

LEGO® Botanicals Lucky Bamboo (10344)

Blooming with details, the LEGO Botanicals Lucky Bamboo (10344) gives nature-lovers the chance to build a piece of plant decor that represents tranquillity and good fortune.

Capturing the serenity of nature, the detailed decorative plant includes three green bamboo stems and pebbles that sits in a plant pot with a wood-effect plinth.

Both the Mini Orchid and Lucky Bamboo complete the Four Gentlemen quartet, alongside the previously-released LEGO® Chrysanthemum (10368) and the LEGO® Plum Blossom (10369) sets.

LEGO® Botanicals Flower Arrangement (10345)

Builders can feel their creativity flourish with the LEGO® Botanicals Flower Arrangement. Blooming with vibrant flowers, including camellia, peonies, hydrangeas, baby’s breath, ranunculus, bouvardia and lilies, the set lets builders embrace their inner florist as they arrange the flowers into a unique display. The Flower Arrangement chalice vase comes with a clever pin system that allows flower enthusiasts to customize the look of the set or mix in other LEGO Botanicals sets, to create a different style.

With 4 in 5 adults saying that doing something creative, manual or active feels more fulfilling as opposed to doing something passive (e.g., watching TV) (80%)*,the LEGO Botanicals collection offers adults a new vehicle for their creativity. Let your mind bloom!

Joining the collection of LEGO Botanicals sets, the LEGO Botanicals Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet, LEGO Botanicals Mini Orchid and LEGO Botanicals Lucky Bamboo will be available to buy on LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and other retailers from January 1st 2025.

The LEGO Botanicals Flower Arrangement will be available to pre-order for LEGO Insiders and in LEGO Stores from January 1st 2025.

Book Review: Botanical Almanac A Field Guide to Brick-Built Blooms https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/book-review-botanical-almanac-a-field-guide-to-brick-built-blooms/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/book-review-botanical-almanac-a-field-guide-to-brick-built-blooms/#respond Sun, 17 Mar 2024 14:00:01 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=36415 The LEGO Icons ‘Botanical Collection’ has quickly become a very popular subtheme for adult builders. Introduced in 2020, we’ve gotten a couple of additions to the collection every year. To accompany these sets, Chronicle Books is providing an almanac with more details regarding these sets and their real life counterparts.

To judge a book by it’s cover, this one looks fancy from the outside. Presented in hardcover format with a black cover with hand drawn illustrations by Nina Pace. Also included (and carefully stored in an enveloppe on the inside of the back cover) is a collectible botanical print.

The illustrations are quite stunning. Each page dedicated to a flower shows the full (brick built) flower, some more detailed drawings and also some drawings for individual LEGO parts. The combination of these are really appealing. In this review you’ll find some pictures that give an impression of the way the book is illustrated. Other than these illustrations you’ll find full color pictures from sets and alternate builds for the bonsai tree.

In the almanac, 27 flowers/plants trees get these detailed double pages. The way this is done really reminds of a scientific field guide with several details on each bloom, like naming, height, flowering time etc. After this there is a nice blend describing both real life bloom and LEGO version. There are facts about part usages, the history of specific parts. So if you’re more interested in the LEGO side of things, there’s plenty to discover as well!

There are also various other topics discussed in the almanac. This ranges from the plants from plants initiative to tips on arranging your own bouquets or adjusting certain blooms to fit in your arrangements.

There are interviews with several designers included in the book, especially the one with Nicolaas Vás about the history of his Bonsai trees is very interesting. And of course the frogs get their moment in the spotlight as well. Other designers that were interviewed are Astrid Sundorf Christensen, Michael Psiaki, Milan Madge and Anderson Ward Grubb.

Despite the almanac being a mixed bouquet of topics, it’s still very coherent. The interviews are blended in over the course of the 112 pages. This way it’s interesting all the way through. And it certainly welcomes to keep coming back to the book to pick up on a few new facts every time.

When looking at the sets mentioned in the book, there are a couple missing. With the production time for a book like this and the relentless release schedule by LEGO it’s virtually impossible to stay up to date. And we can only assume that LEGO wasn’t willing to share details for upcoming sets with the publisher while the book was in production. It could have been nice to expand upon the existing plants and flowers with some extra designs not included in sets. Deviating from the set collection a bit more would have made the missing sets less obvious. However, it’s not a major issue and will always occur when publishing physical books.

The book has a very fair price at £14.99/$19.99. Prices may vary at different retailers however, since I’ve seen it advertised at Dutch retailer Bol for €13.97. This gives it a similar price to the smaller botanical sets.

In conclusion, we think this field guide is a perfect gift for any fan of both flowers and LEGO, especially combination of both in the Botanical Collection. And of course treating yourself to this almanac is also part of that. The illustrations are beautiful to look at and the book is informative about both flowers and the LEGO botanical products.

The book is available from March 19th 2024. If you’re planning on buying it, be sure to support your local independent book store.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!

Newlyweds Stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo talk keeping relationships fresh ahead of Valentine’s Day with new LEGO® Icons Bouquet of Roses

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, hosts of the Newlyweds podcast, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, were recruited by The LEGO Group at their store in Battersea Power Station to launch ‘Le Florist’, a bespoke pop-up flower shop made entirely of real and LEGO flowers.

The loved-up podcasters, who started dating back in 2019, surprised shoppers by popping up at the London store where they greeted fans and built their own new LEGO® Icons Bouquet of Roses to celebrate the launch of the new range.

‘Le Florist’ at the LEGO Store in Battersea Power Station is an immersive pop-up showcasing the LEGO Botanicals Collection as a fun alternative to traditional flowers and an unexpected gift for special occasions.

‘Le Florist’ was open to the general public for one weekend only between Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February. Those unable to attend the Le Florist pop-up can shop the full LEGO Botanicals Collection all year round in store, on LEGO.com, and from select leading retailers worldwide.

Laing and Habboo turned relationship gurus for happy shoppers as they discussed their top tips on how to keep relationships fresh ahead of their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple.

“We love finding fun new ways to spend time together,” said Sophie Habboo. “And always making sure that we’re present in each other’s company.”

Jamie Laing said “For me, it’s lots of laughter, trying new things and making your partner feel special every day. You don’t need an excuse to bring home flowers or a token of your affection.”

The LEGO® Icons Bouquet of Roses is a thoughtful gift, either as a treat for yourself or a gift to a loved one to celebrate a special occasion.

The radiant bouquet depicts a dozen red roses – including four in full bloom, four blooming and four in bud plus a scattering of small white flowers.

The new LEGO® Icons Bouquet of Roses are available now via LEGO stores, lego.com and from select leading retailers around the world. For more information, please visit: www.lego.com/adults-welcome/botanical-collection

JMBricklayer Botanical Collection Money Tree (20008) Review https://www.thebrickpost.com/alternative-brand/jmbricklayer-botanical-collection-money-tree-20008-review/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/alternative-brand/jmbricklayer-botanical-collection-money-tree-20008-review/#respond Tue, 10 Oct 2023 06:54:33 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=31593 JMBricklayers have kindly sent us a new set to review in the form of a Money Tree, which for me personally is the first time trying anything Botanical. I chose this set to review as it not only looks interesting but different too, with its small brown table, white pot, winding roots and lush green foliage.

As Stuart mentioned in his review of the Mechanical Chameleon, there is some stigma surrounding alternative brands, but I’m here to convince you and the die-hard LEGO fans out there that some brands are worth checking out, especially if the leading brand doesn’t produce a certain theme or set.

At the end of the review you’ll find offers and discounts related to this set and others by JMBricklayer.

So without further a-do, into the review.

The Box & Contents:

The box is presented in a fashionable and trending way, just like the leading brand. The dark aesthetic with the set pride of place, really works well, the logo and text have a slight emboss to them, giving the whole thing a premium feel.

In the front you’ll find details of the set, including name, number, age and piece count, which is exactly 1,000. The reverse is pretty much the same design, which is fine, but wood have preferred closeup photos of the set details.

Inside the box you’ll find 2 numbered bags that have multiple bags for each. There is also a small, quite thin, instruction manual.

The Build:

The first section to be built is the small brown table where the Money Tree stands. Working through the instructions and building felt easy and straightforward, I compared it to the leading brand a few times as it felt polished and done to a high standard. With other alternative brands the build feels labouring and sometimes I want to give up entirely, but not here, it was enjoyable from start to finish.

As you can see from the image below there is a lot of SNOT (studs not on top) building techniques. The pot is designed in a way that resembles the leading brand of bricks and again looks & feels great, there’s no dodgy stud-stacking or plate-piling here.

The finished pot looks great and all the angles and slopes cover the possible gaps and any bricks peeping through. I particularly like how the long/thin white corner parts slot into place and create a sound section of the pot.

Finishing off the first lot of bags is the start of the stem of the Money Tree, which you build upon later in the set.

This was a very interesting part of the build, the roots.they twist and intertwine with one another and the finished result looks amazing. Using two different tones of brown, the effect of nature and realism is good, look past the bricks and joins and you could easily mistake this for a real or must certainly fake (fabric) plant.

I won’t lie, adding this amount of foliage to the top of the Money Tree became a little tedious, but I’ve built worse. To be fair the small leaf elements are great and have a nice shine and texture to them, which only adds to the overall look.

The 1×2 Money tiles are a strange choice, as in to use a life-like design, I would have preferred a more cartoony look. Saying that, these notes do look the part and add something different to an already good set.

The finished product it great and one I’d happily display in my home, for all to enjoy. It’s brick-built and thats good news for those that don’t want the responsibility to look after a real plant, after all you don’t need to water this one.

For the price of $44.99 and exactly 1000 pieces, this is a perfect sized set for both beginners and more advanced builders. There’s nothing too strenuous out any or the techniques used here, which is great news, it’s pure joy from start to finish!

Thank you for reading our review, we hope you enjoyed this look at the brand new JMBricklayer Money Tree (20008) set. Below are offers and discounts related to this set and others by JMBricklayer.
