This September sees the start of Series 6, when designers and builders alike can submit their set ideas to be put into a fan vote and ultimately be selected to become real LEGO/Bricklink sets. Amongst the many updates there are a couple in particular that stand out the most, Modular Buildings – Submissions will no longer be accepted. Reading through the long list of guidelines, Buildings in general are fine as long as they aren’t based on the well established LEGO Modular Building format, removable floors in rows, baseplates patterns, and so on. 

Another new rule, this time surrounding animals and fossil fuels, have been added. The depiction of historic vehicles such as Steam Trains and alike remain acceptable. Animals in zoos, circuses, aquariums or other situations that are designed for human entertainment are no longer permitted.

Also the use of preexisting faction titles is no longer allowed, this includes names of Castle and Space factions and other groups. In short I urge builders to read through the fill statement issued by Bricklink to get a better understanding of what is allowed and what isn’t.

Starting today until 14th June, you can cast your votes on the builds that take your fancy. There are a total of 307 in this round so it’ll take you awhile to get through them all, I won’t list them all here but they’re available to peruse at your own pace here. Just like the previous Series’, simply vote by using the emojis on the projects you like.

The Review Stage will run straight after with the final five designs being announced 19th August. Good luck to all that have taken part.

At the time of writing this post, two out of the five sets are still available to pre-order, with approximately 80% sold of the General Store (910031) and 55% of the Parisian Street (910032).

Those that have pre-ordered should know that Series 1 sets will begin production and shipping some time in July 2024, followed by Series 2 pre-orders starting 1st June.

For a very short time you can submit your ideas and designs to the program in hopes that it will ultimately get chosen and produced into a purchasable set. You have from today until 29th September (12:00pm PT) to get your ideas in, which isn’t a great deal of time. This is followed closely by the crowd support stage happening from 9th to 20th October, this is where fans can vote for their favorite submissions. On 20th November the final five sets that made it through will be announced and crowd funding will begin.

It may seem like a long time but fans that purchased sets won’t see them until March 2025!

Bricklink has announced the finalists of the second round of their Designer Program. This saw fans vote for the projects they wanted to see produced after being rejected by LEGO Ideas. The five finalists are listed below and will go through to the crowdfunding stage in June 2024.

You have from today until 2nd June to submit your design ideas, if good enough and one of the five chosen, could be made into a real purchasable LEGO set. The crowd support stage will begin 12th June and run through to 30th June,  fans will be given the opportunity to choose their favorites. The final review process will then run from July through to August with the final five designs being announced on 23rd August.
