The five sets in the running were revealed and voting started, but due to a slight oversight, by the LEGO Ideas team, two of the submissions are from the same creator. This goes against the terms and conditions of the challenge and therefore the voting process has been paused and will eventually be reset when an alternative submission has been chosen.

Read through the official statement below and click here for more information about the fan vote and challenge.

Official statement:

We wanted to thank you all for your feedback surrounding the Fan Vote for this challenge. We have read your comments and deeply appreciate your support.

In response to your feedback, we will be restarting the Fan Vote, with 5 projects, from 5 different creators. One of the submissions by the same creator will be replaced with a new submission. This is in no way a reflection on the quality of any of the submissions and is solely due to an unfortunate mistake from us.

We will have full details in the Fan Vote relaunch blog coming very soon, however, we can tell you this will not impact the other Fan Vote for this challenge (which we’re very excited about!).

While we’re resetting this Fan Vote, it’s important to note that the creators who have received thousands of votes for their submissions, haven’t done anything wrong. Please be respectful of every, and all, of our incredibly creative challenge participants.

Thank you all, for your patience and understanding. Please keep an eye on the LEGO Ideas Blog for the relaunch announcement.

New LEGO Ideas Challenge – If We Could Turn Back Time! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-lego-ideas-challenge-if-we-could-turn-back-time/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-lego-ideas-challenge-if-we-could-turn-back-time/#respond Tue, 05 Mar 2024 17:23:50 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=36088 Great Scott! A brand new 80s inspired challenge has begun over at LEGO Ideas, to create a future set based on the coolest decade for film & TV ever!

The mission, if you choose to accept it, is to create a set inspired by a classic 80s TV or film. As usual there are guidelines to follow including only using allowed IPs, the list can be accessed using the LEGO Ideas IP checker tool. To limit things a little it must NOT be based on an IP that LEGO has done before.

The prize pot is amazing with the winning entry receiving Tron Legacy (21314), Seinfeld (21328) and Back to the Future Time Machine (10300), along with having their design turned into a future LEGO Ideas set and the perks that come with it.

So, if you feel the need… the need to build, get cracking, as the closing date to submit your entry is 9th April, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. EST.

To learn more about it read the details below or click here to be taken to the official LEGO Ideas challenge page. I love it when a plan comes together!

Official details:

If We Could Turn Back Time!

We’re talking leg warmers and big hair: this challenge is all about the 80s!

Regardless of if you were around in the 80s or not, there are so many iconic TV shows and films from that era. With a huge amount of nostalgia, could you build submissions that celebrate these shows and films using good old LEGO bricks?

There must be a retro show or film you love from that era that inspires you. A cult classic, something from your childhood, or an old-school action-packed adventure!
