This week it’s my turn to get stuck into the plethora of awesome ideas found at www.ideas.lego.com! As I love a good Modular and the Medieval theme I thought it was only right to share a project that encapsulates both, introducing the Modular Medieval Village by Albrick

At first glance you’ll see an idea that looks somewhat overpopulated and busy, but take a moment longer and it becomes apparent that there is more to this build than meets the eye. The creator, Albrick, has taken the word modular and ran with it, I can’t think of a more creative way to present and devide a set then what I see here. The display possibilities are vast with not just the buildings but the layout and overall village look & feel.

From the many images included in the submission you can see just how many, and probably more, way the Village can and could look. Each action is built on a standalone 16×16 plate, allowing the end user to place them in any combination. Don’t like the buildings in a row? Swap one out for the column/statue. Don’t like where the market stall is? Move it.

I’ve built many LEGO modular-style sets over the years, where small sections of walls can be interchanged, but Albricksdesign allows for so much more modification, great for popping into a City, a medieval City of course.

That’s not all, there is a full interior to the buildings too. From a lovely homestead to to a Knights barracks, there even space for a Cow in the small house. Outside there is also a lot to see with the statue, market stall and other details. They all come together to form a well rounded and fully fledged set idea, one I hope will gain the 10,000 supporters, make it through each round and ultimately go into production!

We would like to wish Albrick the best of luck in gaining the required support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to show your support, please use the links below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
