Nexflix has recently acquired and showing every season of the popular US Sitcom Seinfeld, which is great news for long time fans of the show, it also opens it up to new viewers, like myself, who have never caught an episode before. This also gives us a chance to get to know the characters of the recently released LEGO Ideas Seinfeld (21328).

The promo video, or skit if you prefer, features Jerry Seinfeld transformed into his LEGO Minifigure counterpart. As you’ll see in the video the whole studio set has been converted into a LEGO-esque style, and it looks awesome!

You’ll also recognise the narrator, Bryan Cranston, has he pops up as an overlay throughout the video. He also jokes towards the end why his character, Whatley, wasn’t included in the LEGO Ideas set, with Jerry Seinfeld responding with ‘you were only in 5 episodes!‘.

When the set itself appears on screen a hand is seen, presumably Bryan Cranston‘s, sliding on a smaller build of his characters  place of work, a Dentist surgery.

This may be purely for laughs, but as we all know LEGO like to tease future releases within teaser images and videos. Fingers crossed this follows suit, although a GWP (gift with purchase) would have made more sense in conjunction with the sets release.

Jerry Seinfeld also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they both transformed into LEGO Minifigures of themselves. This happened after Jerry Seinfeld mentioned the new LEGO Ideas Seinfeld (21328) set, based on his hit US Sitcom of the same name, Seinfeld.

Introducing the LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 21328 set!

Following suit with the recent LEGO FRIENDS TV Show Sets Seinfeld’s apartment is recreated in LEGO form and packed full of episode references and Easter eggs.

The original product idea came from Brent Waller, whose name you may recognise as he was also behind the LEGO Ideas Ecto-1 (21108) set! 

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld (21328) features the apartment where most of the episodes take place, not having ever seen an episode of Seinfeld before I feel as though I can’t really comment on this set and the details within, but I’ll do my best.

The four main cast members are here, Jerry Seinfeld, Elaine Benes, George Constanza and Cosmo Kramer. Also included, the fifth Minifigure, is Newman the postman, who fans will know as Seinfeld’s arch-nemesis!

The set consists of 1,326 pieces, which is more than the LEGO Ideas Central Perk set, making it the biggest stage/sitcom themed set to date.

Also included is a brick-built stage for Jerry Seinfeld’s stand up comedy routines that occasionally popup throughout the series.

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld (21328) will retail at £69.99 – €79.99 – $79.99 (USD), and be available to LEGO VIP members on 21st July, followed by general 1st August at all LEGO Certified Stores and Shop@Home!

Featuring Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment, a buildable stage for the stand-up comic and a Festivus pole the set inspires builders to relive the most classic moments from the series.

The highly anticipated set was created by LEGO fan Brent Waller, from Brisbane, Australia, via his submission on the LEGO Ideas® platform, a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality.

So, whether you want to re-enact the Story of Festivus, the Wallet Scene or the Fix Up, the set’s intricate props and features transport you directly back to New York in the 90s, enabling you to create your very own Show About Nothing in brick form.

LEGO fan designer, Brent, who is the co-founder of a video games company, loved LEGO as a kid but was re-introduced to it as an adult and combined with his skill as a 3D artist he set about designing his own LEGO creations – including creating the Seinfeld set. Talking about the design, Brent said, “I loved Seinfeld in the 90s and recently re-watched them all. I thought it was a travesty that a LEGO Seinfeld set didn’t exist so I made an effort to resolve that and make the best rendition of Jerry’s Apartment and the gang that I could. The biggest challenge was trying to cram as much detail from the show into the kitchen, all the cupboards, items in the cupboard and on the bench-tops. But I am very proud of how it turned out.”

Some of the instantly recognisable features include: the kitchen with buildable counter, fridge, microwave, oven and more; living room with a sofa; tables; an office; a buildable stage for stand-up comedian Jerry and a Festivus pole, collectively inspiring memories of comical moments from the show’s 180 episodes!

The set features 5 minifigures inspired by the iconic main characters and one notable postal worker from the show; Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, Elaine Benes and Newman are all included decked out in iconic 90s outfits.
