The LEGO Ideas Test Lab challenge asks fans to create a customisable brick-built display to house at least 4 Minifigures, it must also be compatible with Minidolls. The winning entry will be available from the Pick-a-Brick service online, just like the previous ones are currently.

There are guidelines to follow such as the aforementioned Minifigure count, along with a Brick limit of between 150 and 200 elements. The whole build must have a customisable element to it, this could eiehter be decoration or the option to expand it to fit more Minifigures

The challenge will be open to members aged 18 and above, while due to legal reasons, will not be open to residents of some countries. If you are eligible to participate you will be able to access the Test Lab platform.

Design submission opens 9th May and closes 23rd May 2023. After which a crowd vote will be held between the 25th May and 8th June. Good luck!

These display stands must:

  • Be between 150 and 200 elements.
  • Feature some customization. But the elements to customize must be included in your submission.
  • Display at least 4 Minifigures.
  • Work to display both Minifigures and Minidolls.

You can learn all the other rules and guidelines on the LEGO Ideas Test Lab page.

What’s LEGO Ideas Test Lab?

LEGO Ideas Test Lab is an experimental platform, first introduced in 2017, and re-introduced in 2022, through which we will test new features, functionality, designs and experiences destined for LEGO Ideas.
Who can participate?

The challenge will be open to members aged 18 and above, while due to legal reasons, will not be open to residents of some countries. If you are eligible to participate you will be able to access the Test Lab platform.
How will this challenge work?

You’ll already be able to view the BrickLink Studio palette and start your build today! However, you’ll first be able to submit your creations from the 9th of May and onwards until the 23rd of May, 2023.

A crowd vote held between the 25th of May and the 8th of June, will also help our judging team understand the desires of the community when they get to work on the 8th of June.
What if my design is selected?

The selected submissions will be available to purchase directly through the Pick and Build hub on LEGO.com!

Users whose submission is selected will receive $1,500 USD (before tax).

In fact, you can check out the selected designs from the first Pick a Brick pilot challenge. These designs have just become available for purchase through the Pick a Brick Hub.
