LEGO Jurassic World Magazine Issue 9 – Alan Grand Minifigure And Fossil https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-9-alan-grand-minifigure-and-fossil/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-9-alan-grand-minifigure-and-fossil/#respond Wed, 20 Dec 2023 23:27:10 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=33995 The latest issue (9) of the LEGO Jurassic World Magazine is here and with it an Alan Grant Minifigure and fossilised Dinosaur build !

The magazine itself follows suit with all its predecessors, with a ton of puzzles and activities, such as dice based games, mazes and word games, there’s even a chance to win some LEGO. These are great fun for the intended younger fans, offering up a fun yet somewhat educational experience.

The double-sided poster as usual features great artwork and worthy of hanging onto for LEGO room decoration. Also the Comic-strip stories are great fun to read especially with young fans, they often feature characters that are included as freebies with each magazine issue, this time around we get an Alan Grant Minifigure and mini excavation site complete with Dinosaur bones.

Raking a closer look at the Minifigure we see the torso has some printing on it, the same as we see from only one, much larger and pricier set, Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack (76949). Unfortunately the legs are plain grey and don’t have any additional marking on them. This is a very affordable way of picking up this Minifigure and adding him to the collection.

As well as the Minifigure we are also treated to a very cool side build in the form of an excavation site. The small but awesome build is an amazing addition to the Magazine, as it not only allows for great okay but also is an enjoyable thing to out together. With the small bones of the Dinosaur to the rock it’s buried in, it’s a smart side build.

Below are a handful of pages to showcase what these style of publications offer along with the Minifigure and build.

LEGO Jurassic World Magazine Issue 9 can be picked up from most good newsagents and supermarkets, such as WHSmithASDATesco and Sainsbury’s, to mention a few. If you can’t get to a store please don’t fret, they’re available online via a subscription service, they get delivered to your door!

Two Brand New LEGO Jurassic World 2024 Sets Revealed! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/two-brand-new-lego-jurassic-world-2024-sets-revealed/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/two-brand-new-lego-jurassic-world-2024-sets-revealed/#respond Wed, 01 Nov 2023 07:25:49 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=32236 Thanks to JB Spielwaren, we have our first look at two brand new LEGO Jurassic World sets coming January 2024!

Up first is the Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center (76963), this 4+ set comprises of 139 pieces and features 5 Dinosaur figures, 2 Minifigures, a smaller-scale Jeep and 2 side builds.

Thessecond set is perhaps more display friendly and one I will pickup myself when available. The Dinosaur Fossils: T.rex Skull (76964) set has a total of 577 pieces and features a rather nice looking T-Rex skull, foot print and special plaque. I can personally see LEGO producing a whole line of different Dinosaurs.

Let us know via the comments section below what you think of this two upcoming LEGO Jurassic World sets.

LEGO Jurassic World Magazine Issue 4 With Pyroraptor! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-4-with-pyroraptor/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-jurassic-world-magazine-issue-4-with-pyroraptor/#respond Sat, 03 Jun 2023 16:43:47 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=28057 It’s that time of the month again when we’re inundated with LEGO magazines, usually a week or two into each month we see a plethora of issues ranging from LEGO City, LEGO Explorer, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, and of course the one we’re going to review today, LEGO Jurassic World!

What’s cool about this particular issue is that it holds the title of that is comes with another brick-built Dinosaur, this time a brightly coloured Pyroraptor. This issue doesn’t have the ‘Special Edition‘ title as previous ones did, which makes the issue number of 4 a little confusing, perhaps I’m missing something here as the previous special edition magazine was number 15.

We’ll run-through what you will see inside this issue of LEGO Jurassic World Magazine Issue 4, highlighting fun and exciting activities & puzzles as well as the parts and final build of the included Pyroraptor!

The magazine itself follows suit with all its predecessors, with a ton of puzzles and activities, such as dice based games, mazes and word games. These are great fun for the intended younger fans, offering up a fun yet somewhat educational experience.

The double-sided poster as usual features great artwork and worthy of hanging onto for LEGO room decoration. Also the Comic-strip stories are great fun to read especially with young fans, they often feature characters and builds that are included as freebies with each issue.

The brick-built Pyroraptor features a nice array of parts including a handful of slopes, plates and clips. It stands up well as both legs are well built and attached by pins rather than ball & socket joints. I particularly like the colour scheme of red, blue and black, it captures the essence of its onscreen counterpart well enkght to be recognised by most.

This LEGO Dinosaur will go nicely with the many others taken from past magazine issues, including a Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Dilophosaurus and T-Rex.

Below are a handful of pages to showcase what these style of publications offer, also a better look at the brick-built Pyroraptor included:

Life-sized Brick-built T-Rex To Promote Jurassic World Dominion! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/life-sized-brick-built-t-rex-to-promote-jurassic-world-dominion/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/life-sized-brick-built-t-rex-to-promote-jurassic-world-dominion/#respond Sat, 07 May 2022 07:07:01 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=18386 As the release date draws closer for the third and final installment to the Jurassic World trilogy, the promotional side of things have kicked off, what better way to celebrate the movie than with a life-sized brick-built LEGO T-Rex!

Chris Pratt made an appearance on the Today Show in the US, but outside is where the amazing build could be seen, as it stood towering over the crowd. Coming in at just over 200,000 pieces, the build looks incredible and extremely detailed.

Although it wasn’t quite a while T-Rex, the effect and awe was still the same, as the head had burst through the Jurassic World Dominion logo, which was also brick-built.

At one point Chris Pratt genuinely got told off for climbing partially into the Dinosaurs mouth!

Review: LEGO Jurassic World Dominion Blue & Beta Velociraptor Capture (76946)! https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/review-lego-jurassic-world-dominion-blue-beta-velociraptor-capture-76946/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/review-lego-jurassic-world-dominion-blue-beta-velociraptor-capture-76946/#respond Wed, 27 Apr 2022 11:32:10 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=17996 Fresh off the LEGO Jurassic World line are the new Dominion set, based entirely on the upcoming third installment of the movie franchise and it’s set to be another blockbuster hit if the trailer is anything to go by.

This of course ushers in brand new Dinosaurs into the mix and ones you’ll want to collect in LEGO form. I personally love a good LEGO Dinosaur and can’t wait to add these into my collection, although the bigger ones do warrant a higher budget.

As usual I built this on one of our Instagram live streams and thoroughly enjoyed it, chatting with followers and genuinely having a nice time.

The Box & Contents:

There is so much happening on the the box and ai must say a really like it, it sets the tone well for what to expect inside and once it’s built, a fun and action packed build.

You see the Pick-up, Minifigures and Dinosaurs in action on both the front and back of the box. There is even space for a size comparison between a Human and a Velociraptor, Blue measures a whopping 1.7m tall!

Inside the box you’ll find two numbered bags, an instruction manual, and a individually bagged Velociraptor.

I really like the fact that there are no stickers at all in this set, it’s actually quite refreshing. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean that there are printed pieces, as there are none of them also!

The Build:

Getting stuck-in the first thing you build is the small cage contraption and Blue the bigger of the two Velociraptors.

As you’ll notice from the photos the cage doesn’t require much effort as is only made-up of a handful of pieces. A plate here, tile there, four ladder elements around the sides and hey-presto a cage for Beta, the smaller of the two Velociraptors. More on them later in the review.

Another little side build in bag one is the ramp, again not much goes into this but I think the overall look is great and is perfect Minifigure scale.

The main build in this set is the pick-up truck and it contributed to my decision in grabbing this set, it looks fab!

The colour scheme is very reminiscent of the original Jurassic Park with red and white being the main colours. It is a tad on the simple side too but I think that it works well for this vehicle, it just doesn’t need to be complicated. One aspect of it that disappoints me is you can’t lower the tailgate, making access to the back difficult for Minifigures, it wouldn’t have taken much to achieve this too.

The cage we built earlier fits snuggly into the back of the Pick-up and simply rests in place, there are no connecting studs at all. This is fine with me as makes popping it in and removing quite straightforward and with no risk of leaving parts behind.

Beta also fita in there extremely well although tucking it under the chain and positioning it correctly can make the chain clip pop off.

Put all these builds together and they look a lot better, as a whole the smaller builds don’t look as simple and actually look pretty decent.

The Minifigures & Dinosaur Figures:

Starting with the two Minifigures, we have Rainn Delacourt and Maisie.

The third installment of the Jurassic World movie hasn’t been released yet so I have no idea who these characters are, unless they went under my radar in previous movies. So I’ll base my opinions of them purely from their LEGO forms.

Both Minifigures have very detailed printing and incredibly well done designs, I particularly like Maisie’s torso design with the green army style jacket. She also has a dual layer shirt and tshirt on which also looks cool. This torso can be used for both Femal and Male characters which is vert nice to see and have in the collection.

Rainn Delacourt also has a great printed torso which also carries onto the legs. He is sporting a rather fetching long coat/jacket that has many pockets and details. He also has a dual layer style going on with what looks like two shirts underneath his jacket, you could easily get away with using just the torso and claiming it is a hoody or alike.

They both have dual faces and an alternate expression, Rainn also has a Snake tattoo on his right cheek, something I’d not expect LEGO to keep.

The image below shows you their secondary expression, which usually is a more angry or disgruntled one.

You’ll see that there is indeed some back printing on both although Rainn only has a few thread lines whilst Maisie has a logo that looks like a cartoon Lion, somewhat resembling the Pink Panther.

The Velociraptor figures are definitely where it’s at one of if not the main reason to pickup this set, as with every Jurassic World/Park and Dinosaur set.

You get two Velociraptors in this reasonably priced set (£24.99),one large and one small. The smaller of the two is Beta, this is a new mould and I must say it looks fab.

They both share the exact same design and print, with the blue streak and light olive green accents. Although Beta’s design is obviously simplified to suit the smaller mould it looks just as good.

Unfortunately Beta has no articulation but does have two legs and feet, compared to the Baby Velociraptor figures we’ve had in the past. Having this new size of LEGO Dinosaur is great and really opens up the playability of this line of sets.

The Conclusion:

Overall a great little entry set into the new wave of LEGO Jurassic World sets.

The two small side builds are basic but work well, the cage is the better rof the two as you can actually use it as part of the bigger build and has playability.

The Pick-up Truck is cool and is in keeping with the six stud wide we love, it’ll fit into a Cityscape easily thanks to the lack of stickers/prints.

The Minifigures are done well and I love the designs on offer. We don’t really know the characters and this hinders their impact for me personally, until the movie releases we won’t know what they’re about and so can’t really relate.

The two Velociraptors, Blue & Beta, are the stars of the set, and worth mostly every penny of the £24.99 price tag. Blue is based on the figures we’ve had before whereas BE ta is an entirely new mould and kind of fits between the two sizes (baby and standard).

We highly recommend this set if you’re a LEGO Jurassic World or Dinosaur fan!
