A brand new promotion begins today as Double Points comes to LEGO Lord of the Rings. Have you be holding off on purchasing either Barad-dûr or Rivendell? Now is the perfect time to pick them up, as Insiders members bag double points on all LOTR purchases from today. Barad-dûr is usually 2,990 points, but with this deal you’ll get 5,980, that’s the equivalent of around £35/$40, enough for a small set.

Visitors to the store on release day can not only purchase the new set but also get it signed by one of the the LEGO Designer behind the set, Nathan Davis. He will be at the flagship store to meet fans and sign sets between 10am and 12pm on Saturday, 1st June.

It’s advised to get there early as the Barad-dûr set is expected to be popular, it’s also only available to LEGO Insiders between 1st and 3rd June, followed by general release in the 4th June.

The first stop-motion short recreates the moment the Fellowship of the Ring is formed and includes every member of the Fellowship in Minifigure form. The second short focuses on Gandalf as he puts his magic to the test and speed builds set.

It’s a cliché but there is something for everyone, from the big hitter LEGO Icons Lord of the Rings Rivendell (10316) which has 6,177 pieces, making it the biggest LOTR set ever. To the most anticipated set of the year, for some, LEGO Ideas BTS Dynamite (21339).

There are also plenty of smaller more affordable sets releasing too from new Classic Brick packs and Disney BrickHeadz, to Speed Champions and Technic. Our favourite would have to be the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Cosy House set, it looks great and is a fully enclosed building.

REVEALED: LEGO® ICONS THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RIVENDELL, THE ONE LEGO SET TO RULE THEM ALL

7th February 2023: The LEGO Group, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, today announced the much-anticipated LEGO® Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set, inspired by the award-winning film adaptations. This highly detailed, 6,167 piece set features the iconic Elven stronghold from Middle-earth and comes complete with 15 minifigures.

Home to the house of Elrond, Rivendell is a key location in Middle-earth and events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as the place where the Fellowship was formed and the quest to destroy the One Ring began.

The LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set is packed with fan favourite moments and Easter eggs, and can be built in three sections including;

Section one, featuring:

• The Council Ring – complete with a semicircular ring of chairs for the council and the plinth where the ring is first revealed​ and the Fellowship discuss how to destroy it
• Frodo’s Bedroom – with a desk and chest where the young hobbit recovers following his rescue by Arwen from the hands of the Nazgûl, before being reunited with Bilbo
• Elrond’s study – with famous paintings from the history of Middle-earth

Section two, featuring:

• An elven tower – featuring five Elven statues of unnamed famous warriors from the past

Second three, featuring:

• Gazebo, river and bridge – to recreate the scene where the Fellowship departs Rivendell.

A new teaser video has been posted on the official LEGO social media channels which shows a Hobbit Minifigure dropping the One Ring. Within the reflection is the LEGO set in question, although the image is distorted we can make out it’s a building of some description, perhaps one from Rivendell?

The set will hopefully be revealed officially in the next day or two so watch this space!

Thanks to Offcial reveals earlier in the month we know what to expect, but here’s a handy breakdown just incase you have selective memory, like I do.

We’ll be inundated with brand new LEGO Friends, LEGO City, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Monkie Kid and LEGO Technic. Plus new entries into the LEGO Marvel theme including The Amazing Spider-Man, there is even an updated, all grey, Avengers QuinJet.

Avatar 2 sets finally hit shelves too and just in time as the movie is now at Cinemas, making them a perfect companion piece.

Oh that’s not all, LEGO Minecraft dishes out more amazing and fun looking sets along with the return of LEGO Lord of the Rings, yes you read that correctly, LOTR is back baby, well in Brickheadz form anyway, but we musnt grumble.

What about the big hitter I hear you cry, well the Jazz Club & Pizzeria Modular is also due out, this is top of my list. It features many fun details and cool characters.

Don’t forget that if you do purchase anything and it exceeds £170 ($/€190) you’ll be entitled to an amazing GWP, LEGO Blacktron Cruiser (40580).
