The upcoming LEGO Minecraft 2025 wave of sets include the usual mix of small to medium sized sets with new char Minifigures and Mobs to collect. Being a fan myself I tend to pickup the smallest of the sets along with one or two others that my young Son would like to add to his LEGO Minecraft Village display. The Box & Contents:

The box art for LEGO Minecraft sets has also been spot on, with the shades of green and ‘blocky‘ design that both LEGO and Minecraft share. I ntje front are the usual details, set name & number (21260) and age rating. Front and centre is the set itself along with the 2 Minifigures and creatures. On the back are a few of the play features, including the Sniffers rummaging through the landscape and Bees that are loosely placed on top of poles to give their movement a more natural feel. 

Inside the box are 3 numbered paper bags, yes paper! These ‘new’ paper bags are becoming more frequent although their appearances are sporadic at best. None-the-less it’s also a pleasure and I love ripping the tops of the bags off, so satisfying.

The Build:

Pretty much all LEGO Minecraft sets are built in a similar way, individual sections that come together to make a larger landscape. The biome of choice here is a lush Cherry Blossom one, complete with 2 trees and matching petals on the floor, when playing the video game I tend to seek out this biome to build my house in.

This set has a nice selection of parts, including big 2×6 bricks to small 1×1 studs, making the build diverse and perfect for the intended 8+ audience. Fan’s of the video will be able to identify the side builds as being blocks they translate nicely into LEGO form, such as the lantern, heart stamped pottery and more, can you tell what they are?

The real star of the set are the Sniffer creatures, there are 3 in total although one is still an agg. These are the builds myself and my Son look for when purchasing a new LEGO Minecraft set, the creatures and Minifigure characters play a massive part in that decision. My Son has a decent sized display in his room with multiple sets merged together to make a bustling Village, adding to this with new mobs (Minecraft slang for characters) is always exciting, especially when it’s a brand new one.

The larger Sniffer has a built-in play feature, pressing down on the back makes the head jolt up and down, this is for rummaging around the landscape unearthing treats. There is a particular space where this can be put and implemented where a section of the landscape pings off.

The Minifigures:

Two Minifigures are included, a Zombie and a character called ‘Sunny‘. Sadly I don’t know enough about the Minecraft video game to know who Sunny is, but the Minifigure itself looks great.

Zombies have been around since the LEGO themes conception so we have entry of these. They haven’t really changed since the first one so there’s not much to say about it. Sunny on the other hand is brand new and is the first time in a set.

The Sunny character has the usual design on the face but with a different colour palette to previous Minifigures, same goes for the torso, a section of it is the standard Minecraft blocks. This is also repeated on the back, it’s a shame the legs are unprinted, but the silver arm makes up for that.

Overall the LEGO Minecraft Cherry Blossom Garden (21260) set is a nice little build, similar to the other sets in this theme. There isn’t anything special about it apart from the trees and Sunny Minifigure. For the price, £22.99, I’d say you could easily leave it and not miss it, or simply build it from your spare pieces, most have appeared on the PaB (pick a brick) wall at some point. I’m my personal opinion, this should have been a sub £20 priced set.

After many years the theme still proves to be popular with fans and rightly so, the game is celebrating its 15th Anniversary this year. The new LEGO Minecraft The Crafting Table (21265) will have an 18+ badge, meaning it is aimed at the Adult builder, but is still very accessible to younger fans. It was revealed by German retailer JB Spielwaren, along with images, a retail cost of $89.99 and a release date of 1st August.

The 1,195 piece set is based on the humble Crafting Table that all Minecraft players know and love. This brick-built recreation looks spot in and it most certainly a set I’m going to pickup, both me and me Son are big Minecraft fans. It features a miniature biome inside the box along with different signs you can switch.

Being a big fan of the series myself (including my Son) this is great to news, we can wait for the new LEGO sets.

The LEGO Group Celebrates the Fifteenth Anniversary of Minecraft® With Six New Sets

Billund, Denmark, 24 May 2024: To mark the fifteenth anniversary of Minecraft®, which was originally released in 2009, the LEGO Group is unveiling six incredible LEGO® Minecraft® sets. Each block-based set has been designed for maximum play-action, storytelling and creative construction, inspired by Minecraft’s iconic biomes and characters.

The Pirate Ship Voyage (21259):

A versatile, hands-on pirate-figure adventure set that can be played with on its own or combined with other sets to create a bigger play experience. The set includes a buildable vehicle toy, plus a squid, two pirate figures and – for the first time ever – a special adult LEGO Minecraft camel.

The Cherry Blossom Garden (21260):

A great gift for Minecraft video game and LEGO fans alike, this set has it all: nature, animals and… zombies! Help Sunny tend the beautiful cherry blossom garden, until a battle commences when the zombies try take over. Try find and dig out a rare seed from the garden using the adult sniffer and baby sniffer. The Sniffer is a mob that was introduced in the game last summer, and now finally coming to a LEGO set in this model.

The Wolf Stronghold (21261):

The Wolf Stronghold features a big wolf’s head above the entrance, which can be changed from friendly to angry depending on the mood. Inside the base is a crafting table, blast furnace, anvil and a smithing table. Just don’t forget there are two Minecraft skeleton toys wandering the forest!

Wanting action and adventure? Look no further! If you dare, enter the perilous End biome to battle against the Ender Dragon. Try steal the prized dragon’s egg but watch out for the dragon’s sneaky attack, with movable and adjustable limbs. Seek safety in the End Ship, which has a fully equipped interior with a brewing stand and health potions.

For all the new LEGO Minecraft sets, builders can have even more added digital fun with the intuitive LEGO® Builder app, where you can zoom in, rotate models in 3D and track progress.

Alongside the fun-packed LEGO Minecraft sets, the LEGO Group sent Minecraft creators across the world a special package and mission to celebrate the occasion. The creators were given instructions to mine the LEGO Brickerite Ore cube with a LEGO brick pickaxe, pair of goggles and gloves, and to start recreating one of their favourite memories from Minecraft with LEGO Minecraft Bricks from LEGO bricks. It may be unbelievable but the LEGO Minecraft is back and is still popular with younger fans. It expands on the different Biomes found in the game with sets based on the Nether and Desert areas. The Cherry Blossom Garden set grabs my Sons attention, mainly because of the Sniffer creatures.
