They first appeared in CMF (Collectable Minifigures) Series 18, a Red Brick Guy and a Blue Brick Girl. These two instantly become popular and loved by most and rightly so, they are different and exciting, a LEGO Brick and Minifigure combined, what more could you ask for?

Following the surprise success LEGO issued a Green Brick Guy in CMF Series 20, again everybody rushed out to grab him and add to their small but growing collection of Brick People. Since then LEGO have dished out a few new colours via the BaM Stations inside official stores, giving us fans even more colour choice. The BaM is centred on creating your own characters, this makes the newer set of Brick People different as you can essentially place any head and hair on them, their appearance isn’t set in stone so to speak, although there might be a general consensus as to which parts work best. The latest colour to hit the scene is Dark Green, as you can see below this shade looks great, it isn’t used much in sets, so having a Brick Costume in thos colour something special.

The gift box tile is the ‘official’ accessory that most fans bundle with the character, you can of course pick a totally different accessory. This is the very nature of LEGO, you don’t need to follow any preset paths, you can mix & match Minifigure parts and create something new and exciting. Below are the characters we choose to go with, including the brand new Dark Green Brick Person!

Since the start of the November 2024 you can build a new colour of Brick Person via the BaM Station at your local LEGO Store, increasing the collection of Brick People one brick at a time. As you can see we went for a Brick Girl to make the lineup even. As you’d imagine the brick torso is compatible with other LEGO elements, obviously, making them great for attaching to the previous Brick People and including in your MOC (my own creation).

A lot of fans display them like us (image above) all connected in a line and perhaps giving a jolly wave. Please head down to the comments section and let us know if you collect these fun LEGO Brick Costumes, also which colour would you like to see next?

Costumed Minifigures – What Would You Like To See? https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/costumed-minifigures-what-would-you-like-to-see/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/costumed-minifigures-what-would-you-like-to-see/#comments Thu, 04 Apr 2024 11:04:40 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=37011 LEGO Minifigures come in all shapes and sizes, especially in the CMF (Collectible Minifigures) series. Being an avid Minifigure collector myself I have an ever growing collection of 100s of characters, but when a new costumed Minifigure is released I have to have it.

Over the years we’ve had many outfits, including a Pizza slice, Melon slice, cake slice, Panda, Bear, Bee, Tree, Raccoon, Dog, Dinosaurs and so many more. With no end insight to the CMF line, we hope there will be a lot more coming our way.

Using Ai, courtesy of Microsoft, we have put together a few characters that we would like to see, I’d like to direct that question to you, what costume would you like to see? From the Ai generated images below I’d personally love to see a Burger and Fries Minifigure and a takeaway Coffee cup, they not only look cute but they would fit into a City as a Mascot extremely well!

The Carrot Crew – New Build-a-Minifigure Characters Available! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/the-carrot-crew-new-build-a-minifigure-characters-available/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/the-carrot-crew-new-build-a-minifigure-characters-available/#respond Sat, 17 Feb 2024 13:15:09 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=35681 Earlier in the week we shared a handy guide to the latest BaM (Build-a-Minifigure) characters, which includes a brand new Pink Brick person, Llama, Penguin, Clown and many more. One of the 6 characters had an awesome Carrot head piece, so when making the Minifigures I thought why not start the Carrot Crew?!

Past BaM parts, the green jumper and matching legs, were still available and made perfect sense to be the basis for the Carrot Crews‘ bodies. I popped random heads onto each one and gave two of them cups and one a teapot, maybe they are planning a Carrot Crew teaparty.

The Carrot Mascot pieces aren’t new but they are very cool, to see them at BaM Stations is nice, perfect for ‘growing’ your mascot and vegetable collection. Costing £5.99 for a pack of three is also great, so why not pop into your local store and grab them before they’re gone.

As with all things LEGO, nothing is set in stone, all the parts above can be swapped for entirely different bits. Genders can be switched, colour combinations can be whatever you make them, and accessories can be random. Remember to have fun and enjoy your LEGO experience.

If you like the look of these characters they are available now at most LEGO stores BaM Stations, although I would recommend phoning ahead to confirm before heading in and even getting a pack or two put by for you to avoid disappointment. You can either make them yourself or some stores conveniently bundle them into packs and are often located near the till area.

Let us know in the comments what you think of these new Minifigures and whether you collect them or not, we’d love to hear from you.

Enjoy The Ride! LEGO Introduces New Carousel (40714)! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/enjoy-the-ride-lego-introduces-new-carousel-40714/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/enjoy-the-ride-lego-introduces-new-carousel-40714/#respond Wed, 31 Jan 2024 15:29:31 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=35280 Without any rumour in the preceding weeks, a new Carousel Ride (40714) playset showed up on the LEGO website today. Based on the unthemed packaging it’s likely this will be a highly sought after LEGO store exclusive.

The ride will be available for the public on the 1st of March. Taking a ride will cost £21.99/€24.99/$24.95. But it’s unlimited spins once you’ve got your admission.

The set is marketed towards 8+ and has 232 pieces including 3 minifigures. This might seem like poor value for money but the parts selected for this set appear to be quite interesting and better value than PPP might suggest. New parts like a banana peel and ornamental fence are included and a 16×16 Dark Tan plate and blue bird are also not the cheapest parts to pick up from Bricklink or PAB. So this is a set to get quite excited about we think!

So what do you think of this set? Are you lining up to take a ride? Or are you looking for something more thrilling? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Full LEGO statement:

Kids aged 8+ can play out fun action with the detailed LEGO® Carousel Ride building set. Decorated in vibrant colors, this amusement park toy features 4 carts, consisting of a swan, a whale, a fire truck and a boat, which can be rotated by turning a pedal gear in its base. LEGO Minifigure Hashtags & Activities To Join In With! https://www.thebrickpost.com/afol-tips/lego-minifigure-hashtags-activities-to-join-in-with/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/afol-tips/lego-minifigure-hashtags-activities-to-join-in-with/#respond Mon, 22 Jan 2024 16:01:04 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=34864 Social media is filled with exciting activities to take part in, from building MOCs and Mosaics to photography and more. Today we’re going to look at some of the Minifigure centric hashtags, what they involve and when they’re hosted.

Our senior editor, Patrick, often rounds up the months build challenges in a handy list, so I thought it would be a great idea to do the same with Minifigure based activities. So, grab your bag of Minifigures and your Sigfig and let’s dive in!

Each hashtag has at least two things in common, they happen weekly on the day in the title and they each require you to use the hashtag and tag the hosts. Others may require more so please head over to their accounts for more details. Clicking each hashtag title and the hosts names will take you to their Instagram accounts.

Jump to a day:

Monday:

#MinifigureMonday

@brick_beat

This hashtag is run by @brick_beat and shared here on the website. You can read more about it I using the year it released, piece count and more. Mark (host) loves his Minifigures and shows them off in a weekly post. You can get involved too by sharing yours every Monday, don’t forget to tag him and use the hashtag.

#LEGOMarvelMonday

@boombrickz@superhero_bricks

Kicking of with a relatively new comer, this hashtag has fast become a weekly staple. As you can probably guess it focuses on LEGO Marvel and asks you to grab a Marvel Minifigure (or set) and photograph it. Most people like to pop a Superhero Minifigure in a scene and add a short story to it.

#MinifigMosaic

@virginia_bricks@johnbtoys@brick_beat

Whenever the word Mosaic is uttered you may think of one particular person in the LEGO community and you’d be right for doing so. @Virginia_Bricks is one of the hosts behind the incredible #MosaicsOnMonday activity. Although #MinifigMosaic is an off-shoot of it, the theme does focus on Minifigures. If you’re struggling with inspiration for a Mosaic, then grabbing a Minifigure may give you that much needed spark, hence #MinifigMosaic. It’s not limited to just Mondays either, you can post any day or the week.

#MinifigMugMonday

@thebrickbabe

Another simple yet awesome hashtag to do is hosted by @thebrickbabe. Grab a Minifigure, grab and Mug, take a photo and post. There are quite a few LEGO mugs & cups to choose from so mix it up.

Tuesday:

#FigtographyTuesday

@lets_brick_it@boombrickz

Is hashtag gets you out & about, as the main pull for this activity is being outdoors. As a LEGO fan myself I’m often couped-up inside building, so at least once a week it’s nice to get out and snap some pictures. It’s open to any theme and Minifigure so have fun with it!

#TukTukTuesday

@kt_and_lego@holybrickstuds @brickinintheusa

Do you have a LEGO Tuk Tuk? Pose your Sigfig, or any other Minifigure, with it and take a photo, post it on Tuesday, done! The hosts and the many partakers have great fun creating scenes focused around the LEGO Tuk Tuk set and MOCs.

Wednesday:

#SigfigScene

@thebrickpost@brick_beat@virginia_bricks

#SigfigScene has been going for awhile now and is hosted myself here at The Brick Post along with two good friends, @brick_beat & @virginia_bricks. It’s a single concept, make a LEGO representation of yourself, pop into a brick-built scene (set or MOC), take a photo, share on social media using #SigfigScene, collaborate with @sigfigscene on Instagram and tag the hosts. The first Wednesday in every month is themed, so follow us to stay up-to-date.

Thursday:

#LEGOThemeThursdays

@reddsbricks@angela_thebrickjedi@brixish

This is a new one for me personally but it looks great fun. The premise is simple with a new the every month, January is ‘What makes you happy‘. Although it’s not Minifigure exclusive, the majority or entries do focus on a character. It happens every Thursday and with a theme so broad you can really get stuck into it and use your imagination to create something heartfelt, cool, whacky, or highlighting a message.

Friday:

#LEGOFriendFridays

@roslederman

This is a fairly new hashtag to the list and is a great idea. It asks you to snap a photo of your Sigfig with a Friend. It’s a nice way to show appreciation to someone that has helped or been there for you, makes you laugh or just a good friend.

Saturday:

#LEGOStarWarsSaturday

@brickmcbricksworth@lets_brick_it

This is dedicated to LEGO Star Wars, if you hadn’t of guessed already. I like this one as I personally like putting characters in random or unlikely situations. Others pop their Minifigures in a Star Wars set and recreate a scene from the movies/TV shows. Whatever floats your boat, this is a great activity to take part in.

#LEGOHaturday

@inappropriatepiratebricks@adrian_c308@lego_dad_and_the_kids

As the title suggests, it’s Hat themed and asks you to snap your Sigfig or other Minifigure with a Hat on. I love this activity as I usually go over the top with it and do something bonkers. I’ve come to realise that I need more LEGO Hats in my arsenal!

Sunday:

#LEGOBodySwapSundays

@brightonbricks

This hashtag is very imaginative and the premise is simple – grab any two Minifigures and swap their bodies! The outcomes are often hilarious and make for some cool, whacky and unexpected combinations. Give it a go, which Minifigures will you choose?

We hope this list serves you well, it makes for an awesome week’s worth of activities, content and most importantly FUN. Please check back regularly as we will be updating it with new activities.

If we’ve missed any Minifigure centric hashtags off the list or you have one you’d like considered for the list please get in contact with us via Instagram.

LEGO Wintertime Carriage Ride (40603) GWP Review https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-wintertime-carriage-ride-40603-gwp-review/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-wintertime-carriage-ride-40603-gwp-review/#respond Sun, 10 Dec 2023 09:58:52 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=33557 A few days ago I reviewed the first of the current Gift With Purchases, Christmas Decor Set (40604). Today it’s time for the other. This is ‘Wintertime Carriage Ride (40603)‘. The spending threshold for this set is €150. It’s announced to be available until December 14th unless stock runs out sooner.

To be fair, I don’t think I should do a regular review, scoring pieces and building techniques out of 10 for this set. I quite like the set but it’s not great on these aspects. So I’d say an average score would be too low and this is an example for the total being better than the sum of its parts.

The set contains 152 pieces. The horse is the rarest piece in this set (included in 3 sets in total) and the newer flat lid for treasure chests is my first set getting it in. The ornamental carriage wheels can be interesting for some but they’ve been around for quite a while. Other than that there’s no bulk of pieces, or anything noteworthy among the rest.

The build process is fast and furious. There’s really not much to it and I was thinking to myself: ‘is this it?’. But you end up with a beautiful horse drawm carriage audiences of all ages can enjoy. It’s suitable for play for children and display for adults. And that’s a quality we don’t often see in sets. Most often one of the two is sacrificed for the other.

There are 3 minifigures included in the set, a driver and 2 passengers. The driver has a carrot for the horse and the passengers have scarves around their neck. So for me this seems to be extra on most GWP’s and makes up for the earlier mentioned shortcomings in pieces and building process.

So overall this is a great GWP to me. In the Christmas spirit I’d happily overlook some details and just enjoy the set as a whole. If you plan on spending this kind of money on LEGO in the near future I’d recommend doing so while this set is available, I’m not sure there will be a better promotion this month.

New Figs On The Block: Santa, Winter Lady And Snow Shoveller! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-figs-on-the-block-santa-winter-lady-and-snow-shoveller/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/new-figs-on-the-block-santa-winter-lady-and-snow-shoveller/#respond Wed, 22 Nov 2023 19:33:36 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=32792 Brand new Minifigure characters are available at BaM (build a minifigureStations Worldwide and include a Christmassy mix of new parts and prints.

The last lot that were available were randomly themed and comprised of several characters including a Gold-breaded Merman, Acorn Kid, Pastry Chef And others, click here for a quick refresher.

Having recently moved house, my new local store (Birmingham) is well over an hour and a half away. Thankfully a two fellow AFOLs (Adult Fan Of LEGO) helped me out and acquired this set of Minifigures on my behalf. Thank you @TwoGayAFOLs! If you’re in the same boat as me I would suggest joining several LEGO related Facebook Groups as some kind souls list new BaM packs for cost price.

The new BaM characters hit many stores 1st November and are available in most regions Worldwide. We have given them random and made-up names to make it easier to identify them, also the parts & accessories can be switched for any you like. Here is a closer look at them:

Santa (Dark Red Suit):

  • Dark red hat
  • White beard & moustache
  • Dark red torso
  • Dark red & black dual-moulded legs
  • Teddy bear

Winter Lady:

  • Pink hair
  • Big, red glasses
  • Blukue & white torso with snowflake print
  • Blue legs/skirt with sea design as above
  • Giant transparent blue snowflake

Snow Shoveller:

  • Russian-style hat in red
  • Sweating face
  • Fur-line jacket with black & white shirt torso and dark brown hands
  • Olive coloured legs
  • Shovel

As you can see there are a lot less out this time around compared to the last BaM outing, with three characters in total to add to the collection. I can personally see them all being quite sought-after, especially Santa in his new dark red suit.
