LEGO Alien Pack (40715) & Alien Planet Habitat (40716) Sets Revealed! https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-alien-pack-40715-alien-planet-habitat-40716-sets-revealed/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/lego-alien-pack-40715-alien-planet-habitat-40716-sets-revealed/#respond Mon, 01 Apr 2024 15:52:34 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=36922 LEGO has revealed two new Space-themed sets, Alien Pack (40715) and Alien Planet Habitat (40716)!

Both sets will be hitting LEGO stores and LEGO.com from 1st May. The Alien Pack comprises of 181 pieces and is similar in style to Battle Packs, although you’ll only find one Minifigure here. It features six different brick-built alien characters and a small Rover vehicle.

The other set, Alien Planet Habitat, features an alien environment of habitat sections that can be added on to the LEGO City and Friends Space sets. It comprises of 206 pieces but sadly no Minifigures.

Both sets will retail for $14.99 and most likely be exclusive to the LEGO Store and LEGOLAND resorts (if the box artwork is anything to go by). Take a look at the images below and let us know what you think of them via the comments section.

Small Box Big Punch – Entry Level LEGO Sets Are Great! https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/small-box-big-punch-entry-level-lego-sets-are-great/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/small-box-big-punch-entry-level-lego-sets-are-great/#respond Thu, 22 Feb 2024 16:22:11 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=35793 As fans of LEGO, new or veterans, we know that some sets can be a little in the pricey side, with the likes of Lion Knights Castle (10305), Hogwarts Castle (71043), Millennium Falcon (75192) and many more big sets, it can be daunting when looking at price tags in the LEGO store. But it’s not all big spends, you can grab some pretty decent entry level sets for less than a tenner!

Aimed more towards the younger fans, these smaller sets are great to get little ones interested in building at a slightly more advanced level compared to DUPLO. They can also attract older fans with some having exclusive Minifigures and/or parts. Take the LEGO The Lego Movie 2: Benny’s Space Squad (70841) for example, not only did it reignite our love for LEGO Space it also gave us four brightly coloured Space Minifigures and small side builds, all for the low cost of £8.99.

These sets are very affordable, they are often the cheapest options in-store if a set is what you’re after. Starting from £8.99, Children can use their pocket money to buy them, along with other in-store items such as a Build-a-Minifigure pack. Currently on the market from LEGO are a range of fun treats to pickup that won’t break the bank. There is something for everyone as most current themes offer several options, including LEGO City, Friends, Ninjago, Star Wars, Marvel and many more.

Amongst veteran LEGO collections, the smaller sets aren’t really worth picking up, unless they include an exclusive Minifigure or part as mentioned before. Many look at sets as a way to bump up their spare parts collection to build MOCs (my own creation), these smaller sets offer very little selection in that regard.

For me personally I look forward to seeing what LEGO produce in each wave, most recently the BrickHeadz range of sets have cost me dearly as there have been some amazing offerings such as Potted Groot and Sonic The Hedgehog. The twin packs do cost a little more but again for the price there are great and worth picking up if they float your boat.

If you shop online, head over to LEGO.com and filter your search to ‘Sets under £20‘, you’ll be presented with a lot of options and pleasantly surprised at what you see I’m sure. If you want your money to go that little bit further then shop around, The Entertainer, Smyths Toys Superstores, Amazon and other retailers offer regular discounts. Saving a couple of quid here and there all adds up and you’ll be able to spend the savings on a set, bonus!

If you have any recommendations then please leave your suggestions below via the comments section. Thank you for reading this article we really appreciate your time and support.

How To Enjoy LEGO By Sticking To Your Budget! https://www.thebrickpost.com/afol-tips/how-to-enjoy-lego-and-keep-to-your-budget/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/afol-tips/how-to-enjoy-lego-and-keep-to-your-budget/#respond Mon, 18 Dec 2023 16:24:33 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=33888 Hi guys – thebrickbheanie here!

This post is all to do with LEGO-ing on a budget.

Step one is to work out your LEGO spend limit – that is what you can afford each month on LEGO without getting into money difficulties. That could be £10 or £100 plus depending on your income.

Step two is to always stay within your budget – this can be hard as FOMO (fear of missing out) is something us LEGO lovers struggle with, especially when GWPs (gift with purchase) are concerned. Plan you spend around these gifts or Double LEGO Insiders Points. But that being said it is always best to stay within your means whilst enjoying your hobby.

Step three is to try and not compare your budget, or yourself, to others. Comparison is a joy killer and usually leads to feeling down about the hobby you love – the main thing is to enjoy what you’re buying and building.

Some good tips and tricks for budgeting can be:

  • Looking at what is coming out each month and make a note of any that catch your eye and their price.
  • If your budget is small – expand your brick inventory by getting some bricks off of the PaB (Pick-a-Brick) wall or your minifigure collection.
  • Only buy sets you really want – not just popular or trending sets at the time.
  • If you don’t have enough money that month save it across a few months to be able to get the set(s) you really want.

It helps to remember that having a budget to stick too doesn’t limit the amazing fun you can have with LEGO and it certainly doesn’t make you less of a fan for not having a large collection or bigger budget to spend. Loving your collection is all that counts, after all, it’s yours!

I hope this has article has been helpful, let me know what you think of it via the comments section below. As always, enjoy your sets and builds!

My LEGO Brickheadz Story By TheBrickBheanie https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/my-lego-brickheadz-story-by-thebrickbheanie/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/blog/my-lego-brickheadz-story-by-thebrickbheanie/#respond Wed, 12 Apr 2023 12:55:38 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=26255 I’m Monique from thebrickbheanie and I have been collecting LEGO since 2021. I share my adventures online via Instagram, these include the sets I purchase and the MOCs (my own creations) I make.

There is one theme in particular that I adore the most, Brickheadz!

Let me tell you a little bit about my collection so far and the theme in general. It all started with the very first LEGO Brickheadz set back in 2016 which was Batman (41585) from the LEGO Movie.

The biggest set released to date is the Spice Girls Tribute Set (40548), this consists of 5 individual Brickheadz, those being the members of the hugely popular 90s Girl band the Spice Girls.

Being relatively new to the world of LEGO I have sadly missed out on so many great looking characters, I started collecting Brickheadz since 2021 but despite that my collection is growing nicely.

I really enjoy building them as they all look unique due to being different themes and characters, but all Brickheadz have a similar blocky (excuse the pun) look so when displaying they all look beautiful together regards of if you only collect Disney ones for example or if you have a mixture in your collection, as I do.

The first set I purchased was Hamsters (40482), it has 243 pieces and is based on a Hamster and it’s Baby. It caught my eye when I began collecting as I had Hamsters as pets and the builds themselves looked them. The set has since retired but it started my love for Brickheadz and I am now the proud owner of 7 sets in total, hoping to up that soon.

My personal collection:

  • Hamster (40482)
  • Goldfish (40442)
  • Birthday Clown (40348)
  • Woody and Bo Peep (40553)
  • Buzz Lightyear (40552)
  • Chip and Dale (40550)
  • Wall-E and Eve (40619)

If you haven’t already I would highly recommend taking a look at the selection of Brickheadz on offer the next time you visit the LEGO Store, whether that’s in person or online.

Thank you for reading my first ever article for The Brick Post, I truly appreciate your time. I hope you enjoyed this BrickHeadz appreciation post as much as I did writing it!

Happy Building.

Could We See A LEGO Subscription Service Soon? https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/could-we-see-a-lego-subscription-service-soon/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/news/could-we-see-a-lego-subscription-service-soon/#respond Wed, 22 Dec 2021 19:04:32 +0000 https://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=15300 There is a new survey found in the ‘get more points‘ section of the LEGO VIP Rewards Centre, that asks multiple questions surrounding two different types of subscription service.

The two plans would feature pretty much the same key points and cost the same price, €4.99 per month, the list of features include:

  • Free delivery on LEGO purchases
  • Early access to products, experiences and content
  • Limited edition products
  • Purchase back catalogue items
  • Return used bricks and receive discounts or points to use against other purchases
  • Free GWP

Let’s break down the two plans that LEGO have hinted at implementing. One service allows you to digitally track your entire collection via a ‘LEGO Wallet‘ along with other LEGO experiences in one place. The other focuses on workshops and courses held by LEGO experts

We would like to emphasise that this does not necessarily mean LEGO are developing or implementing some sort of subscription service, and we will eagerly await confirmation from the powers that be on the subject.

The survey ends 7th January 2022 and you won’t go unrewarded for your time as once the survey is complete and verified you’ll get 150 VIP Points put into your account, not bad right!

Let us know in the comments below which service you’d signup for, of any, and why.
