The new set will feature a transforming version of Tails’ Cyclone Plane and perhaps more awesome is a Metal Sonic Minifigure. Cyclone vs. Metal Sonic (77002) will comprise of 290 pieces and will be released early 2025. Sadly there isn’t any other information surrounding the set so watch this space forore updates.

Cyclone vs. Metal Sonic (77002) is a building set that will appeal to children aged 8 and up and fans of Sonic collectibles who love gaming toys. This LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog playset features a mech with articulated legs and a turret with a stud shooter. Children can make the mech “fly” by folding up its legs and rotating them forward. Various tools for maintenance and repair work on the mech are also included. This Sonic playset for boys and girls will be the talk of the town. The two minifigures – Metal Sonic and Tails – let children pretend that Tails is working on his mech, for example, or duel with Metal Sonic to protect the Chaos Emerald hidden in the mech’s hull. The fast-paced action fun continues with other LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog gifts for young gamers, available separately. And the LEGO Builder app offers an intuitive building adventure. In the app, children can zoom in and rotate 3D views of the models, save sets and track their construction progress.

The two sets are due to release 1st January 2025 and include Sonic’s Campfire Clash (77071) which features Sonic himself, a G.U.N. Beetle and Hunter. The second is Super Shadow vs. Biolizard (77073) and includes a brick-built Biolizard along with super versions of Sonic and Shadow Minifigures.

Try To Keep Up! Two New LEGO® Sonic Sets Revealed at Sonic Central

A new host of Sonic’s friends and foes will be joining the world of LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog this January 2025

Billund, Denmark – September 24, 2024 – Today, the LEGO Group revealed two new sets as part of the LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog range. With the likes of Super Shadow, Biolizard and many more, fans will be able to start 2025 right as they bring to life these iconic characters and locations from across the Sonic universe in LEGO brick form.

These two sets were announced as part of the annual Sonic Central livestream during a very special call between LEGO Sonic, LEGO Shadow and LEGO Dr. Eggman. More details on the new sets can be found below:

• LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog: Sonic’s Campfire Clash (77001) will allow fans to join Sonic as he relaxes in front of a cosy campfire, before protecting the Chaos Emerald from the villainous clutches of G.U.N. Beetle and G.U.N. Hunter. This 177-piece set will throw you straight into the action as you launch Sonic in his speed sphere at the enemy robots to rescue Tocky and collect some Gold Rings along the way.
• • LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog Super Shadow vs. Biolizard (77003) tasks fans with the mighty challenge of defending the Space Colony ARK from Biolizard. With the help of Super Sonic, Super Shadow and the speed sphere launcher, find Biolizard’s weak spots, while trying to avoid his stud launchers and powerful jaws and retrieve the Chaos Emerald before it’s too late. The only question left to answer is, who’s faster, Super Shadow or Super Sonic?

  These reveals follow new additions to the LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog range from earlier in the year, including LEGO® Sonic the Hedgehog: Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster (76999). This set provides Sonic fans the ultimate adventure as Super Sonic and Shadow team up against Dr. Eggman and his Egg Drillster. The set features a brand new character never seen before in LEGO form. Shadow’s Escape (76995) comprises of 196 pieces and includes the highly anticipated Shadow Minifigure and his bike, Dark Rider. Both of these look absolutely stunning and once available will be a huge hit with fans. Details are a little scarce but we speculate a price of around $21. It also comes with 2 side builds, a toll barrier and a creature, sorry my Sonic The Hedgehog knowledge isn’t up to scratch, I’m a Super Mario kid.

The model features Sonic and Dr. Eggman, in an interactive brick-built display that includes a super-sized version of Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot and a chilli dog-eating Sonic. The total amount of bricks used in its creation is a staggering 383,217, with the while thing taking 1450 hours to build.

Sonic Superstars LEGO Fun Pack Announced At Gamescom!

We recently shared news of DLC for the upcoming Sonic Superstars game with the Eggman pre-order bonus pack. Today SEGA has announced a new LEGO Fun Pack which will be included with the digital deluxe version of game. The fun pack includes LEGO Minifigure skins for three of the main characters, Amy, Tails and Knuckles.

You can pre-order the game online now and the digital deluxe edition from your gaming platform’s digital storefront of choice. Official release day is 17th October 2023 Sonic Superstars.

But what does this mean for us LEGO fans? Well there are several games in the works inckyd8ng some from TT Games and 2K Games, but what could they be? TT Games are expected to drop the new of a brand new LEGO Harry Potter game which is rumoured to be similar to the LEGO Skywalker Saga, spanning the entire Wizarding World of Harry Potter in a single game.

With any luck we should be graced with news of what 2K Games has in store for us with their next title, which is rumoured to be a LEGO football game.

SEGA will also be there with their showing off Sonic Superstars which will include LEGO themed content. This new game will be showcased during Gamescom, so we’re certain to see more details surrounding the LEGO elements of the game.

Last but not least, Light Brick Studios are expected to reveal what they’ve been working on, this will be there second title, after the success of LEGO Builders Journey, we have high hopes for their game.

Gamescom will be streaming live from Tuesday (22nd August), most reveals will occur during Gamescom opening night so make sure to tune in! Of course all the LEGO related News will be added here so watch this space.

Sonic & Tails Brickheadz have been revealed during San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2023, with Sonic the Hedgehog Brickheadz (40627) and Miles “Tails” Prower Brickheadz (40626). These will be racing into stores and online 1st September 2023 for the usual RRP of £9.99 ($/€9.99) each. 

Sonic comprises of 139 pieces whilst Tails has a few less at 131 pieces. I do hope we get more Sonic related BrickHeadz as a Dr. Eggman set would be awesome. Who would you like to see given the BrickHeadz treatment? Comment below.
