To help narrow down my choices I look for several things, top of my list is that the submitted project has to be brick-built, in physical form, there have been exceptions of course.

This weeks chosen idea is by LEE40, he has recreated The Muppets Theatre and turned it into a stunning modular build that opens up and doubles as an amazing display option for The Muppets CMF that released last year.

It’s time to play the music
It’s time to light the lights
It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight

As I mentioned at the start what drew me to this particular rendition of The Muppets Theatre is that the creator has taken the time to actually build it. Real bricks and real Muppet Minifigures have been used in the making of this idea, amazing!

LEE40 has also been doing the rounds lately at local events, carefully packing up his set and travelling far & wide to display it. This goes a long way to showing his dedication for it and which will ultimately gain him the support that is required. Good friends of The Brick Post, Martin (@BoomBrickz) and Stuart (@brickmcbricksworth), have both met him and say how cool he is and his idea. Check out Martin’s short video of it in action here.

From the outside it looks great with many LEGO Cityscape owners saying just how easy it would slot in to their existing setup. But it’s inside where the real magic is, both front sections fold outwards to reveal the Theatre itself. Obviously taking massive inspiration from the source material the interior looks spot on with the red walls and gold trim.

You maybe wondering where the Orchestra pit is, well it is hidden away on the roof. Simply grab the centre top section and hey-presto, as if by magic it appears. The pit itself could easily be a separate project and display option for some of the Muppets crew.

Thats not all this wonderful idea has to offer, behind the red curtain is where the real nostalgia lies, the individual windows where The Muppets themselves pop up from.

These have been recreated rather well and look the part, especially when you pop the Minifigure characters into it. The use of gold Frogs elements to represent spotlights is genius. From a front-on view this really comes together well, check out the image below for a prime example.

Other parts of the build are also hidden away and are definitely worth mentioning. You’ll find the main entrance and ticket booth along with a staircase up to The Muppets windows. Even here the details are great with a wood-clad banister, dressing room doors and a ticket booth.

Overall the whole build is fantastic and one I’d love to have as an official LEGO set one day. So please head over to LEGO Ideas and give your support to this submission by LEE40.

We would like to wish LEE40 the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to give your support, please use the links below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
