The sets are taken from the MCU Spider-Man trilogy, including the upcoming Spider-Man Far From Home movie. This set will feature the Sanctum Workshop and complete with four Minifigures:

  • Spider-Man
  • MJ
  • Wong
  • Doctor Strange

The two other sets are based on battles that have taken place in the previous two movies against Vulture and Mysterio.

All three set will be available from 1st October 2021!

LEGO 76172 Spider-Man And Sandman Showdown Review https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-76172-spider-man-and-sandman-showdown-review/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-76172-spider-man-and-sandman-showdown-review/#respond Mon, 15 Feb 2021 14:09:36 +0000 http://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=8951 In January 2021 LEGO released the next wave of Spider-Man sets and as Marvel is one of my favourite themes I have to buy these to add to my collection, even the 4+ sets make their way into my collection! What better way to start off my first article on The Brickpost then to review this cool little 4+ set.

76172 Spider-Man and Sandman Showdown features 45 pieces, 2 minifigures and retails for £8.99!

The first part of the set is a Spider-Man quad bike, which has 2 main pieces that fit together using 2 x technic pins in yellow which is quite unusual but a welcome change to the usual black pins we usually see. The build is very simple, has a nice flame coming from the rear and the best piece in this build is the 3×4 wedge with printed Spider-Man symbol, web pattern and eyes for headlights. This is what I really like about 4+ sets, no stickers!

There is a very small side build which makes this set very playable for chidrens, a round brick launcher, made from 7 pieces its simple but effective.

However by far the main reason to buy this set for adults and completionists is for the minifigures, this set includes the brand new for 2021 Spider-Man with printed arms. This Spider-Man may be included in 3 of the new sets, however this is the cheapest way to get this minifigure. The torso and head prints are from the previous minifigure but still look great. Also we get the exclusive to this set Sandman minifigure, with one sand colour arm and hand and a green torso, which looks like the jumper worn when he escaped prison, half the torso has an semi-transparent sand colour print showing the green jumper beneath and this is mirrored on the back. The head is a single printed face with a brown hair piece. The legs have been replaced with a really awesome looking sand pillar and swirl, this looks amazing and can be placed onto plates or bricks with ease.

We also get a large web piece that Spider-Man can use to “trap” Sandman. Overall for £8.99 this is a great little set to get for children and adults alike, children will have fun playing with this set and adults will be able to add 2 great minifigures to their collection!

LEGO Spider-Man Mech 76146 https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-spider-man-mech-76146/ https://www.thebrickpost.com/reviews/lego-spider-man-mech-76146/#comments Sat, 28 Mar 2020 11:42:18 +0000 http://www.thebrickpost.com/?p=2986 Having built and reviewed the Iron Man and Thanos Mechs it was a given that I’d review the Spider-man Mech also, and here it is!

Box art front

The box art depicts Spider-man in his Mech swinging through the City ready to save people and battle enemies. I have always really liked the art on LEGO’s packaging.

Open up the box and, just like the other 2 Mech sets, 3 bags slide out, along with the instruction manual and a small sticker sheet.

Bags 1, 2, and 3

Sticker sheet

Consisting of 3 pairs of stickers, for the hands, shoulders, and feet.

Bag one:

This bag contains the Spider-man Minifigure (which I’ll review further down), an accessory bag of web pieces, and the torso of the Mech.

Bag one

The round tile on the Mech’s chest is printed and looks fantastic. The design and detail is great!

I always like getting these web pieces, they come in very handy, not only for the set, but for MOCs etc. Just like the Power/Water accessory elements that come with Dr Strange and Cpt Marvel, i usually keep these bags sealed until I need them, but of the purpose of this review I opened it.

Web accessory bag

Bag two:

This bag adds the hands, arms, and legs to the torso built in bag one.

Bag two

Two of the smaller web pieces are used on the shoulder blades and look really good.

Each hand has 3 fingers and a thumb, and a surprising but well implemented Web shooter, sadly it doesn’t actually shoot anything, it’s just a blue technic pin to hold some of the other Web pieces.

Bag three:

Bag three

The final build adds the lower legs & feet and the big spider legs/arms attached at the back.

Those big spider arms are great and look awesome but they’re somewhat cumbersome and quite difficult to position. The hands sometimes knock them when posing and restricts movement.

Minifigure:

Spider-man – Front & Back

This Spider-man Minifigure comes in a total of 5 sets (including this one), so it’s not particularly special or unique. Saying that doesn’t mean it’s any less cool, it’s Spider-man after all, one of Marvel’s most loved Superheroes!

The design is done well, and the printing has come out great. From the clear logo print to the suits lines and muscular shading.

Unfortunately there is no printing on the legs. I can understand why as it is a relatively cheap set (RRP £8.99).

Conclusion:

Another great Mech set and awesome for the price (RRP £8.99). The piece count, 152, is good for a set this size and you get some interesting elements.

The Spider-man Minifigure is great, as always, but by now everyone must have a handful of him, and could be somewhat less interested in purchasing this set.

Main build is easy and straightforward, consisting of a few repeated steps (hands, feet etc).

If you’ve collected and built the Iron Man & Thanos Mech, I would recommend this one, to complete the current lineup.
